Those were my instructions from the other post. Yes, it updated the radio. Mine is at version 3.37.15.

or is it just if you have like an omj rom still installed when you take it in that they would freak out on you?

If you run the leaked ROM or any of the kitchens based on it, you will not be able to hide the fact that you're not running the stock ROM. Your HTC boot screen will change to read "test only" (unless it's been replaced in a cooked ROM), your windows version and splash screen will change, your radio will change, your ROM version will change, your PRI version will change, your SPL version will change, etc. I guess if you load the leaked ROM without unlocking, you could try telling them that you are a beta tester for HTC, but basically if you change your ROM, you run the risk of voiding your warranty.

OK.......so I finaly broke down and did this, I followed the instructions and everything started out correctly and when the ROM update got to about 7% it stopped. It told me an error had occured, unplug the phone, pull the battery for 3 seconds, reinstall the battery , reconnect the phone and continue. I did this and now when I go to install the ROM it tells me that the ROM cannot be installed on my device and my phone is stuck on the bootloader screen. I've been holding off on doing this as I did not want to brick my phone and now I'm stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I think I can't install because my computer wont sync to the phone anymore. I'm using vista and mobile device center.
