xv6900 Today Screen Help

Searched all over, can't find the answer. Hopefully you all can help me out.

How do I remove the bottom section of my today screen, just above the softkeys containing the single Wireless Sync icon?

It does not appear in the items list in the today screen settings.

Anyone else figure this out?

Thanks!

Just before you go to the Items tab, while still in Appearance tab, notice where it says "Use this picture as the background" with an unchecked box? This means you're defaulting to the background of your theme. All you need to do is find a nice background pic, put it in a folder, and then use the Browse button to make it your new background. It'll come in with something like about 40% transparency. If you want different transparency, use Pictures & Video to open your pic, and then tap Menu.

Hope this helps, MrG

Thanks for your response MrGoodtunes!

Unfortunately that does not seem to fix my problem. I tried a different background and the bottom line with the Wireless Sync icon still shows on my 6900.

You really would think this would be an item in the today screen item list, but it isn't. I even check in the Wireless Sync settings to see if its possbile to remove the icon in there, and I find nothing. It's just taking up valuable space on my today screen.

Re: xv6900 Today Screen Help

What happens if you tap or touch that Wireless Sync icon? Double tap? Tap and hold? (And TMZ's right, a screenshot would be helpful.)

Re: xv6900 Today Screen Help

Here we go. I'm referring to the bottom part of the today screen just above the softkeys with the Wireless Sync icon.

This is what I get when the icon is selected.

Thanks

Re: xv6900 Today Screen Help

Looks like some program or plugin created a system tray area and put that icon there. Hmm, have you looked in your \Windows\StartUp\ folder? A link may be there, making it come back automatically after soft reset. If you don't use the icon, then removing/relocating the link might be a fix.

Re: xv6900 Today Screen Help

Do you use Wireless Sync? If not uninstall it....

If you do use it, I suggest as Mr. Goodtunes said, to remove it from the startup folder.

Re: xv6900 Today Screen Help

most likey there is a reg setting to enable/disable....there is a battery icon that you can enable in the sys tray also, it is located @ HKLM\Services\Power\ShowIcon, 0=disable, 1=enable

so check the HKLM\Services\ for a folder called wireless sync or similar. if you don't find a folder, try doing a registry search for wireless sync.

Re: xv6900 Today Screen Help

This thread has helped me with one half of my problem (getting my background picture darker), but the other problem I have is that the photo I want as my background is showing up as a tile and it looks weird. Is there any way I can get it to stop tiling?
