Verizon XV6900 - Standard mini USB or not?

I was in Best Buy the other day wasting time and saw the XV6900. I've been considering this phone but am not sure I want to give up my keyboard (XV6700 user)

I was holding the phone, which is quite small, and noticed the USB connector looks non standard. After some googling, I couldn't find out whether or not it is a standard miniUSB (i.e. my current charger/usb cables will all work) or not.

I like the idea of the smaller phone, but what a PITA if it's non standard. I don't like the missing 2.5mm jack either. I would actually prefer a 3.5mm jack!

my chargers from the xv6700 work on the xv6900, but the car charger I bought specifically for the xv6900 (it actually has xv6800 on the package) does not fit my 6700.

How is that? It doesn't physically fit or just doesn't charge it? Looking at the model in BB it didn't look like a standard miniUSB cable would fit in there.

I have a car charger for my 6700 as well as a Seidio stand (which I know won't fit because of the audio out jack).

my chargers for the xv6700 fit and work with the xv6900. The charger specifically made for the xv6800, which fits the xv6900, does not fit the 6700. In other words, you won't have to replace your 6700 chargers to use with a 6900.

Re: Verizon XV6900 - Standard mini USB or not?

Thanks... That is good to know. Now if I can get over the lack of keyboard, and audio jack.

I stream Sirius daily at work using the Seidio Stand with 3.5mm audio jack out. I will miss the audio jack and keyboard I'm sure. But the size is nice!!

I have both a headset and my truck has built-in bluetooth. Ideally I'd love to find a decent (and comfortable) Stereo BT headset to use my phone at the gym as well, but I've used 4 different models/brands and They were all horrible.

The problem I have with them is the lack of adjustability. If your head is built the same way the model's was your golden. Otherwise, not so much...

Check this site out for BT stereo headsets. I use them and love them. www.jaybirdgear.com
