change how calls or texts make the phone vibrate

Is there a way to alter the vibrate pattern for different notifications? For example: texts give a series of short bursts while phone calls will have a long pulse.

Does anyone know of a way to alter the patterns for vibrate (aside from the obvious on and off)?
