Bell ##778# unlock code

I'm a noob and I don't want to do anything stupid until reading through the forums for a while. Eventually I'd like to flash to a rom with GPS but until then is there some way to get in to the ##778# settings to change my ring polling time. I'm on Bell and all the instructions I've seen about this seem to suggest that you can just get in there and edit the settings, but when I click on edit after dialing ##778# to do that it asks for an unlock code.

I'll answer my own question for anyone interested.

So the unlock code needed here, as I understand it, is the MSL. There's a post here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...hlight=get+msl about how to get it.
