I guess when youre plugged into the wall charging, there are electrical surges and bursts, and if you so happen to pick up a call during it, you could get ROCKED! Maybe the kid had a cheap ext battery in it without the over heat/charge protection. I dunno, but sh*t, i'm buyin the mugen (aka quality) battery for $80 with the awesome cover. No chances here. not spendin chump change on an expensive phone. |

Re: 2400 mAh Extended Battery- $11.99
Okay I bought this 2400 maH battery on eBay and I've just tested it agains my Seidio 1500 maH (same size as the OEM) battery.
I used the eBay battery yesterday and after 8 hours of typical usage, it was at 19%. Using the Seidio one today the same way, after 8 hours it was 10%. Obviously the eBay battery is slightly more powerful than the Seidio one, but certainly not 900 maH worth -- and IMHO -- not worth it's huge size. Now, I know that both of those are not very good battery life for my phone, but the way I have it set up (push email, power never turns off unless I turn it off which is rarely, backlight doesn't dim until 5 minutes, etc.) I don't expect great battery life. |

Re: 2400 mAh Extended Battery- $11.99
I wonder is a 2400mah battery will work with the Seideo cover? I doubt it would but it would be cool to have a flat back. I am happy with my 2000mah battery but I was thinking of picking up a spare since I do travel a lot and if a 2400 fits with the Seideo back I'ld like to try a 2400mah battery.

only 1500mAh Seido last 10% of use, that says its way better than that 2400mAh battery you bought. |

Re: 2400 mAh Extended Battery- $11.99
This thread is entertaining. I ordered and received the same extended battery and sloped back case as gullzway's post in post 15. The battery so far has been great. It came charged at around 50%. I charged it overnight for 7 hours and when I awoke, the battery was fully charged and charging was in trickle mode (and there were no explosions LOL). The sloped back fits perfectly and snaps in without issues. The sloped back is kinda nice in that you can rest your index finger there when you are on the phone and makes it comfortable to hold. I definitely would not have liked the square backed case as the original poster had linked. The only cosmetic issue some will have is that the back is not black buy gray but for me it is a nonissue.
I believe that many of the Ebay mah ratings are over-inflated so I agree with CMeys that those battery ratings are inaccurate. I would withhold any conclusions, though, after one 8 hr comparison. There are many posts regarding "cheap" batteries made in China. I am not a battery expert but this battery I bought is made in China, the OEM battery is made in China and the Mugen Power battery looks like it may be made in China (www.unifirm.com) or at least distributed from HK. I have 2 other "1100mah" batteries made in China which, like the OEM battery, gets sucked dry equally fast with GPS usage LOL. The new extended battery does last longer but I will reserve final judgment until I have more time using it. Personally, you can spend whatever you want if it makes you feel good. It makes me feel good to spend $16 for an extended battery and a nice back. |

Re: 2400 mAh Extended Battery- $11.99
Ok. So I am going to order an extended battery. Now I need your help.
Many of you have already done this so I will ask your opinion between the Seidio 2000 mah, the Mugen Power 2400, or the battery referred to in post #15....if you were buying today which would you order? I have also just gotten my hands on the new Verizon leather vertical case for the BB Curve. It looks like it will be a perfect fit for the Touch with the extended battery's and it does not have the RIM logo. thanks, Lee |
