Anybody else crashing when serching for poi's? Says out of memory. Tried memmaid, turned off all other programs, most of my progs run off of 4gb storage card. have 70% memory or more free when loading igo.

Mine works just fine. Do you have the latest July 30th release?

Yes, I do have July 30th release. I am trying to get the August 29th. It works sometimes, but if I search for something that is not in the poi database it crashes. Also, does anyone know how to add your own backgrounds?

Re: Anyone using iGO 8

Just took delivery of a fujitsu loox n520 and completed the OS and firmware update including the gps update.

Now have igo 8 and was wondering if anyone here has it running on the fuji.Looking to find out the port and baud settings to use and if i should use the astralauncher and try and work out how to set the shortcuts.

If i do use astra i will be putting astra onto the system memory and igo8 onto the sd card if anyone can give me some pointers.

Thanks in advance.

I am attaching my sys.txt it is still a work in progress. It will enable terrain in 2d, and 3d mode. Enabled a lot more 3d things roads, signs, and etc. Also you can fling the map around just like opera 9 beta with web pages. If anyone can modify the file and make it better be my guess just reupload so the can enjoy. I will be testing TTS to see if I have installed it correctly as well.

Update:

TTS works great

Features:

Poi dial enabled

Time zone patch

Trips increased to 4

3d building enabled

3d landmarks enabled

3d, 2d terrain enabled

auto time mode enabled

Inertia on map enabled ;able to move app around like Opera 9 beta web pages

gps set to com4, 4800 baud

add option to enable max memory, and reserve memory. Need to uncomment fields and set preferred value.

Cache set to 2048

Removed annoying audio message if gps lost

Removed annoying drive safe announcement

Added estimate calculation when gps signal temporarily lost (tunnels etc)

Option to enable Turns on Smart 2D enabled by default

Ability to change compass type currently set to 3

and more fetures as well to many to explain

Have anyone been able to figure out how to configure the limit of the amount of memory that Igo8 uses with this sys file? I have been reading for hours on this post but I seem to missing the answer..... What format is the memory looking for Megabits, KB or just a hex number sequence. I presently using Igo8 latest release and it is nice but I keep getting the "Out of Memory" error after using it for a little while (About 5 or 10 minutes)

I have even formatted unit and just loaded software to isolate problem... Problem still there.

If someone know how to configure this option, 3 would appreciate assistance.... I tried TomTom and Garmin but I perfer using Igo.

Please help...

Well for everyone attempting to use Igo 8 on a HTC Mogul that experiance "Out of Memory" error ](*,) I did some further testing for the nature of the "Out of Memory" error when using software.... I came to learn that the TTS voices seem to pull more memory when used and uses all free memory. I usually cant run software without it running out of memory during trip, since yesterday I disabled TTS Voice direction and made at least 6 trip (Job has me driving a bit:mrgreen:) with Igo and it ran perfect without and errors...

So you can play around with this option and see if it works for you also..

Good Luck

Does anyone know how to make it so the map rotates with turns? I hate looking at the map and not knowing which way im supposed to turn because the arrow is facing down on the map(the map doesnt spin, the icon for the car does). I want the Icon for the car to remain pointing up and the map to turn when I change direction, like most other GPS systems.

Re: Anyone using iGO 8

I have a HTC Touch Pro and not a HTC Vogue but this issue may not be phone dependent. I keep my ringer set to vibrate at all times...when Igo8 turns on I'm assuming it un-mutes the sound for obvious reasons. However, when I exit the application the program appears to turn the sound all the way down, rather than set the phone back to vibrate, this is bad because then if someone calls I dont hear or feel anything. I have the latest version of iGo 8...
