Lost AS after a day with gpstest2.1

I've installed gpstest2.1 and everything worked very well but a day later i can't get the Touch to connect to Any PC's? I've tried 3 different machines and none of them are starting AS 4.5 when i connect the Touch to them.

Everything else works flawlessy like the GPS (Thank You everyone!), Rev A etc...I've un-installed/re-installed AS couple time, deleted the AS folder as well but in vain. What could be the problem and is there a way beside doing an hard reset on the Touch to fix this?

Lots of time it's PC issue with the Advance feature was checked. To uncheck it, go to System and look for USB To PC setting and uncheck the "Enable Advanced Network Functionality". This will force the Touch to connect to AS in Serial mode instead of a Network mode.

Try this and hope this helps.

You probally already tried this.

I get this problem once in a while and
I just have to restart my PC and then it
connects with no problem.

If you flashed a new rom you definatly
need to re-install active sync and then
restart your pc

hope this helps.

Thank you for your help. Actually my "Enable Advanced Network Functionality" was uncheck and when i checked it again i can get AS to start but then get the error saying "AS cannot connect to the device" pop up. Maybe i need to to uninstall/reinstall AS again? BTW, when "Enable Advanced Network Functionality" is unchecked, i cannot connect at all, i'm not sure why.

Yes i've reset the phone many times and rebooted the laptop too but nothing does it. i also try to connect the Touch to 2 other pc's and same result, i really don't want to do the hard reset but do i have a choice?

I had a similar problem, I ended up flashing the stock ROM and I was finally able to sync. Something got corrupted.

I also had the problem recently. I could still sometimes connect for a short period of time which enabled me to uninstall the usb device in Device Manager. The next time I reconnected the touch, the driver reinstalled itself and all has been working well since.

I would also check the usb connection to the touch as mine was not working well (it worked when I twisted the connector a bit...)

Hope this helps
