Awesome, thanks!

This reg key gives 6 thin bars. Changing the value to 6 from 7 changed it to 5 bars. Not sure which I like better. Fun to play with though.

does more bars mean a more fine indication of signal strength? like is 5/6 bars necessarily better than 4/5 bars?

Yes and No.

It's probably more what you're used to than anything.

When you have low signal say 15% on the 6 bar meter by showing 1 bar vs on the 4 bar meter it shows nothing, I don't know if it's safe to make a call. With the 4 bar meter it's sometimes too coarse.

When you have strong signal it doesn't really matter if it shows 4 or 6 bars.

It also makes it hard comparing radios. I think a lot of folks think they were getting less signal because the meter changed.

you don't necessarily have to delete the value. just change the value from 7 to 4 and visa verse to get the desired amount of bars.

ie: change the value from 7 to 4 gives you 4 larger bars and leaving it at 7 gives you 7 thinner bars.

Thanks! If I had 50+ posts I'd 'thank you' but I don't yet :(
This is great, I frequently have 10% signal (no bars at all) Now I have 1 tiny bar for 10% signal! I feel much better seeing at least one tiny bar than no bars at all :D
