Re: Any luck for Bell Mobility user with the new Alltell rom
So it doesn't put any sprint stuff on there? Sorry for all the questions, I am just unsure of what the customization process is doing I guess..

Not sure what "Sprint Stuff" you are referring to, but nothing crippling, everything works as I expected.

Re: Any luck for Bell Mobility user with the new Alltell rom
cool sounds good, however, before I hard reset and let the customizations run, will this run JD's customizations, or will it run the alltell customizations. haha sorry I want to to be sure because there was so much discussion about not letting the alltel customizations run

Re: Any luck for Bell Mobility user with the new Alltell rom
Just making sure, do I still need to "unlock" my touch with the new unlocker in order to use JD's rom with GPS to not brick my phone?

2. flash the Alltel rom, don't let the customizations run 3. flash JD's rom and let the customizations run |

Re: Any luck for Bell Mobility user with the new Alltell rom
Dan,
Since you updated to JD's his customization file overwrote Alltell's file. SO the answer to your question is it will Run JD's. YOu could also just re-apply JD's Rom and let it finish if you are concerned. |

Re: Any luck for Bell Mobility user with the new Alltell rom
hey thanks for all the responses, got it to work but my touch is pretty slow at the moment. Soft reset might fix tho. Also, it seems that I can't locate too many gps sats, I think its only getting 1 sat (cell tower) and can't "triangulate" my position. Any way to fix this or check out how many sats I can see?

I followed the instruction how to flash back Bell Rom. Internet connection problem is still remaining after Bell applied all of its customizations plus i got additional problem which is that when my phone goes to standby mode then i cant turn my cell phone on without soft reset. So i went back to Alltel rom, because it doesn't give the freeze problem for stand by. Any other suggestions on how to repair my internet connections? i went into set up connection but it asks for user name and a password... do you, guys, know what user name and password are for bell network? |

Re: Any luck for Bell Mobility user with the new Alltell rom
kamak I'm in the EXACT same situation as you now. I'm on the 1.17 Bell ROM, my standby mode locks the phone permanently, and my internet does not work... You should pm me, maybe we can work together to get this fixed? I've been doing a lot of googling but no luck so far. For now set your auto sleep to never (uncheck it in the power settings) to avoid having to soft reset.
The username and password for bell is: username: <10 digit phone number here>@1x.mip.bell.ca EDIT: or try <10 digit phone number here>@1x.bell.ca info here (sorry for the HF link, but it's information...): http://www.howardforums.com/showpost...81&postcount=2 password: <original 4 digit voicemail password> But that doesn't work. Getting closer... I managed to flash the Bell stock ROM while keeping standby mode intact. Internet STILL doesn't work, but I'm working on getting that working (flashing Bell update ROM as I type) So here's how I did it: Follow the Downgrade instructions here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24979 I couldn't manage to get it to STAY on 0.36 after I rebooted, but it DID say 0.40, so I was happy. I then flashed the Bell ROM, and voila! standby mode now works. It seems the CoKe 2.31 bootloader was staying intact with the Bell ROM, and this affected standby mode somehow. Anyways, i'll post back later if I manage to get data connections working again, please do post here if you get it working too Last edited by Koba; 04-26-2008 at 03:18 PM. |
