Anyone know how to spice up the default alarm clock?

I've searched everywhere to find hacks for the default HTC built-in alarm function...no luck though.

I've tried a few 3rd party alarm clocks...but I was just wondering if anyone knew any reg tweaks to add functionality to the FREE built-in alarm clock? (for example: play an mp3 file, repeat more frequently)

Re: Anyone know how to spice up the default alarm clock?

If you want to add a custom tone for the alarm clock, you need to make it into a .wav file. I made a post about this a while ago.

Found it, I posted this in Feb

Update

I changed my file to a .wav format and placed it into the /windows directory. I did a soft reset and the file appeared. However, when I would click on my custom sound, it would automatically change it to default in the "Alarm Screen." Keep in mind, my file was named somthing like "adfadfad - adfa3sf.wav." I think that long name had something to do with the error.

I ended up deleting the file again because it would not work. I had the idea that if I trimed the file down to about 30 seconds and made the file name short, that it would work.

On the second attempt, the file worked!

So, for those that want to add a custom sound for an alarm you
1) Convert your mp3 file to wav file
2) Make sure that the name of the file is simple with no spaces or dashes
3) place this file in "Mydevices>Windows"
4) * Note I made new ones with this same method and it didn't work. I had to convert the .wav files into MONO instead of stero. It works now.

Hope this helps anyone else with this problem!

Regards,
Brian
