That make NO sense whatsoever the way you describe it here...

Sprite is far and away the best backup software. It keeps getting better and better. The latest version you have tons of control over what is restored which is very helpful if you are changing roms. Sprite is required purchase in my eyes.

SPB backup has been my favorite for years.

I tried Sprite last month and was not impressed. totally screwed up my phone no matter what option i chose to restore with.

I second this! I use Resco Backup, and like it more than SPB or Sprite. Mostly because it doesn't reset itself just to make a backup. I do nightly backups at 1:30 am, and was always woken up my the little chimes of resetting and stuff. Plus, resco products are great!

Sticking with Sprite, it's always worked well for me.
New version is quicker at backup and restore.

I own both and used SPB backup for months but was not happy with it as it would only backup to the SD card. I recently purchases Sprite and it backs up to the PC as well as the card and I do Both nightly. I have had my card get corrupted once so do not trust it totally and having a second copy on the PC lets me sl;eep better as copying it over to the PC from the card everyday would be a pain, but with sprite it is totally automated. I have been using sprite now for about 3 weeks and think it is the best I have seen.

While we are on the subject, I have a question about Sprite backup. When I got my Treo 700w I remember that I got Sprite backup for free. I do believe that I downloaded it from a link after entering some information about my phone. I was wondering if Sprite comes with the xv6900? I checked the CDs that came with it, but no dice. Anyone have info?

Unfortumately, no. I always thought that was a deal offered through Sprint since I got it with my 700wx.

If you got it for your 700w, then maybe it was actually offered through Palm since as far as I know Sprint never offered the W.
