Text ringer issues

After 10 or 20 text messages received, the phone no longer rings when I receive a new text message. The screen still lights up which is of no help considering it is in my pocket. The only way I am able to temporarily fix the problem is a restart. I have had to restart this phone many times a day which is a pain. Anyone got any ideas?

Re: Text ringer issues

I have never had that issue and I get 30 - 50 messages per day. Are you closing out your programs that you are not using? Did you add a new tone or try to switch to a new one?

I did add an mp3 ringer, the only app that is usually open is IE. I will change the ringer back to the OE ring and see if that helps.

Hmm, Ive only had that issue if I keep the sms inbox open & let the screen time out. All my ringtones are mp3's.

Re: Text ringer issues

Funny, I have the same problem. Custom mp3 text ringtone. I lose the sound after about 20 text messages, or after a certain amount of time... Guess I'll make it into a wav now...

so many things wrong with this phone---sheesh

Re: Text ringer issues

yup, this fixed it... no surprise that there is an inherent design flaw in an htc product!

Re: Text ringer issues

I have not come across this problem yet. But if I do, it's good to know how to fix it right away.

Re: Text ringer issues

I noticed, as well as the WAV file working 100% of the time... it also works FASTER. When I had an MP3 selected as an alert (for text, especially,) I would sometimes have a delay of 2-5 seconds before it actually played. Now it's almost immediate. I guess playing an MP3 is just too much for this lil' guy

Hopefully they will release a faster/stable product sometime soon...
