Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!

i have noticed that some programs are being encoded to only work with proprietary android release that is on the g1 etc not versions installed on other devices. So far I have ran into this with shazam. Is there any work around and can we expect this road block on more apps in the future?

Hey guys, what resolution are you all running at? I've set mine to 240x320 in default.txt since that's the native resolution of the Touch, but things look pretty scrunched. Has anyone messed around with any other resolutions and had good luck?

330x440 works for me.

Thanks, that looks pretty good except for one major problem: every time I turn the screen off and back on again, the whole image "shifts" up about 10%. Is this a known problem?

That's what was happening to me but if you use the default.txt file and change the type to 3 it should fix the problem, looks like this: pm.sleep_mode=1 board-htcvogue.panel_type=3 no_console_suspend"

Thanks, that did the trick.

Now, does anyone have any idea why Google contact sync doesn't work? (gmail and calendar sync work fine)

It does work, it's just not very clear when it syncs. The first time you set up your gmail on the phone, it sent all your contacts to gmail. I think when you add numbers it just does it real fast.

As for Shazam, it works fine on my Vogue, but can't listen to any music. This isn't the program's fault as no microphone apps work on this release anyways.

Actually I meant why it wouldn't sync my contacts from Google down to the device. However, I have that resolved now: the problem is all my contacts were in the "All contacts" grouping in Google. If you move them to "My Conctacts", then they sync down to the device.

Have you been able to get location to work on google maps? (using cell-tower triangulation not gps)

What's with GPS? When I hit My Location in Maps, it shows me the dot driving down some road in Palo Alto, CA. I'm in Montreal, canada. What's going on.

Edit: Also, I'm having the problem where despite Togga being enabled, I can't download any apps from the market. It just always says unsuccessful. Is there a fix?

Nope, in fact I didn't even know this was possible. I shall try later tonight and report back!
