Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!

I know this was specifically released with the vogue in mind, but I have a sprint mogul (6800). I tried to run it (using a cooked rom with more ram available). I got to the screen where a red line streaks back and forth while it attempts to load? It pauses for a few seconds and then you think it's going to load something and then the animation restarts.. it keeps doing this. Am I not waiting long enough or is this because the titan is low on memory?

Any help is appreciated... how long does that screen last for you Vogue users?

It takes about 15 - 20 seconds to load up on my Touch.

Wow very nice!! Now we need some apps...:)

I am downloading and testing apps from this site:
http://www.android-freeware.org/

Try my modified initrid-android file (make sure to back yours up):
http://www.fileqube.com/shared/wBEatgKz49406

Includes following .apk's in /data/apps/
- android_blackjack (does not appear in menu?)
- android_file_browser_2.0 (does not appear in menu?)
+ androidGlobalTime.apk (included in DZO's pkg, works)
+ opera_mini_4.0 (appears in menu, works)
+ sms.apk (included in DZO's pkg, works)
- snake.apk (does not appear in menu?)
+ Xlive.apk (appears in menu, works)

Haret will not open the file if it is bigger than 25mb, so I will need to try other apps later. Anyone got any idea why some apps show up and others don't?

Do you have your username/password set properly in default.txt?
Are you able to browse web if you start w/ a pre-existing data connection in WM6 before booting Android?

I did a little research on how the alltel phone does DUN on this site:
http://wireless-internet-access-prov...nt-alltel.html
It seems that while most of our CDMA phones dial #777, your alltel phone dials ##342587 on handset - THEN #777. This might be the culprit, unfortunately you don't have the functionality yet to change that.

Anyone know why this won't load on my Sprint Touch? It shows a progress bar like it's booting but once it gets to 100%, nothing. I've left it for 30 minutes and it just stays there until I reset.

you've downloaded all the latest files and stuck them in a folder called "android" in the root of your device (not an sd card), then run "haret.exe" and clicked "run" ?

A fellow over at xda-developers has gotten Android running on the Touch. Its sort of like a Live CD in that you can run it and it wont change anything on your phone. A soft reset, and it will be like Android was never there.

I created a CAB file for easier installation, maybe to get people not quite as familiar or those who are technically challenged a chance to try out Android. It basically just installs the files for you instead of you having to download and then copy them over manually. It also has a start menu programs shortcut. It's posted at http://myhtcphone.com/downloads/14-f...omatic-install
Please let me know if you have any problems with it.
