Phone locking up

Seems like sometimes when when I'm just doing stuff on my phone (calculator, internet, typing a text) and I receive a phone call the caller ID pops up but the phone just locks up. I can't receive the call and I have to do a soft reset. I just did a hard reset on the phone and havent installed any apps or registry edits except for opera and its still doing it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Re: Phone locking up

I'm not an expert, but from my experience it sounds like you might be experiencing memory issues. I used to have lock up issues with my p4000, then I installed the X Button ap and it seemed to clear the problem up. It basically ensures the program is closed (not just minimized) and frees up memory.

Re: Phone locking up

I had mine lock up for the first time just the other day...
I was receiving a call and I didnt answer it but when I took the phone out a little while later it would not come out of sleep mode... The green "i see a signal" light continued to blink but I couldnt get the screen to come back at all...

I kind of attributed it to having added "A LOT" of apps and such to my phone recently....
Many of the apps are freeware like S2U2 (great app!!!) and such and I know some of them have had memory leaks and other issues in the past (and no i am NOT pointing fingers! =) )...

One soft reset in the week and a half that I have owned my Touch isnt sooo bad... considering I have been using the CRAP out of it... heh heh

How did I live with a crappy flip phone for soooo long?!?!?!

I'm not sure if its the reason but the phone that had the problems was manufactured in 11/2007 I believe, the new phone was manufactured in 1/08.

I had actually did a hard reset because the phone wasn't coming out of Standby, and the HR seemed to have cleared that problem but then it started the freezing so I just took it in to have it replaced.

With my new phone, I didn't add all the apps/software I previously had...I didn't want a bunch of stuff on the phone that I really didn't use...

So far so good, I haven't had any freezing.

This describes sorta what happen to me but over night 2 days ago. I didn't look at the phone, since I got a miss call until the morning. Saw it was blinking green but when I went to wake it up it didn't had to soft reset.

Went back to stock ROM without any apps last night, everything ok this morning.

Started installing apps again.. We'll see..
