Tethering with USB & Bluetooth

When I tether with USB, it shows that I'm getting 10 mbps and with Bluetooth its one mbps. Is that whats everyone is getting using the Touch?
Are those numbers right? Tethering with BT is a waste of time or is my BT not working right?

USB will goto 10Mbps while BT will only goto 1Mbps. Rev 0 EVDO will only give you about 1Mbps at full signal.

Umm actually I believe EVDO rev 0 is rated to go to 2.4 Mbps (300 KB/sec) with rev a rated at 3.1 Mbps (400 KB/s)

edit: sorry you are right about actual speeds, those are peak speeds that I gave!

I just flashed the new REV A firmware on my friends Sprint Mogul

Doing a test on speedtest.net via usb connection

HTC Touch (non Rev A)
728 Down / 123 Up kb/s

HTC Mogul (Rev A)
1530 Down / 258 Up kb/s

Rev A is roughly twice as fast in real world test. Both pinged at ~400 ms.
Retesting with bluetooth was about 10% slower in throughput and 100 more ms in ping.

Bluetooth actuall throughput is only 440kps, I think the 1MB might be the connection amount.

Correct for bluetooth 1.XX. Bluetooth 2.0 will go to a little over 1 mbps.

True, but none of these phones are 2.0. 1.2 at best except for the Touch and TyTn

Titan and Vogue are BT2.0. Most new phones are.
