Re: Live Search + GPS location on the touch

Ok I haven't upgraded my live search yet so I decided to test this.

I tried 1-6 untill 6 worked...sort of...I clicked center on GPS and It took me to Atlanta, GA. I-75 to be exact...I live...in Ocala Florida...so...I'm not sure what GPS this is picking up on or how it's working, but it IS getting a GPS signal..I know that much because I've lost the signal and it's asked me to reconnect (which it did).

I was under the same impression that touch has a version of live search that uses the cell tower information to give approximate location.

I talked about this at
http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...ighlight=touch

but it did not go anywhere

Where is this get location via GPS available in live search. Are you refering to "center on gps"?

I'm not sure if it's the heating or something involving the radiation, but the GPS DOES seem to work after you put it in the Microwave for about 20 seconds.
It appears to unlock the flux capacitor which allows the update that is to be released in the near future to be auto-downloaded.
If that doesn't work, try putting it in the oven at about 300-400 degrees for about 10 minutes.... add bread for an easier BM.
Likely needing one right about now because your so full of _.

Sebo, did you happen to be in Atlanta when you tried this? Near Martin Luther King, Jr Dr?

or any of the other cities that are in the default City list?

Given that someone else was "located" in Atlanta even though they are in Texas, I'm going to assume Live Search just happens to like Atlanta.

Until someone gets a pretty much exact location of where they are, I still say this is not working.

yea i'm in austin tx and it puts me in atlanta.

the reason I think is because atlanta is the first city on the live search list.
