Clean 19716/19202 and differences...?

Hey all, recently I have come across a few different roms using updated wm ce os builds.

as high as build 19716 is reported to be containted in omj's v7 rom.

build 19202 is in an otherwise stock rom jd presented to us.
build 19202 is also used in dereknjenny04's latest (v15 at this time) rom.

two questions:

1. what is really the difference (if any) between the 19716 build and the 19202 build? (and what do these have over the 19199 build for that matter).

2. is there anyone willing to make a very well cleaned out rom using these ce os builds?

i attempted/am attempting to clean one out myself, but seeing as how i have very little experiencing removing things from roms, i am having some trouble getting this done myself.

thanks a lot for everything all you guys have done,
jim.

The build numbers are Microsoft's build numbers for WM 6.1. Since its still under development, those build numbers will keep changing until the final release. There's probably little differences between the two.

Different people use different builds, its up to them which ones they use and prefer.

right i understand the concept between different builds and such. its just i wish i could find some documentation somewhere on which build is best/a changelog. i am really really really sick of all wm6.1 vogue roms freezing. i was hoping newer/different build numbers may be able to fix this depending on what they change. hence my desire to know of a changelog or anything like unto it.

Re: Clean 19716/19202 and differences...?

also.. do gsm builds and cdma builds share the same numbers? or are they both on a different timeline?

example. JUST an EXAMPLE

cdma touch stock 6.1 release date 05-06-07 build 1.0001
cdma touch beta build release date 06-06-07 build 1.0003

while at the same time..

gsm touch stock 6.1 release date 05-06-07 build 1.0333
gsm touch beta build release date 06-06-07 build 1.0344

basically im asking if both are on their own timeline and build structure?

EDIT: and also does anyone here monitor the microsoft.public.pocketpc newsgroup?? Is there ever any relevant info there or just a bunch of nubbies asking questions??

I've tried a few 6.1 ROMs and had a lot of them freeze, but so far I've been using OMJ's latest (v7 I think) and it hasn't froze on me once.

wow really? hmm...that is very interesting and good news. about how long have you been running that rom, do you use htc touch keyboard, and about how much messaging do you think you do on a given day?

thx a lot.

I've also been running omj's v7 for about a week and haven't had any freezes either. I currently use PCM Keyboard, with PCM Contacts, but I am just testing it out right now... it has its ups and downs, but I think I am going back to the original. I also have SPB Full Screen Keyboard and have it mapped to the original camera button and it works great. I do about 10-15 texts a day and sometimes even more without problems.. I recommend OMJ's v7 because it is the only one (and I tried almost all the others) 6.1 stable rom.. good luck and let me know if you get any freezes

Re: Clean 19716/19202 and differences...?

OMJ v7 was the first ROM i installed and really liked it but wanted to try the others. and I did so so far I like these and theres something each one has that i like.

OMJ v7 - very well equipped (build 19716 WM 6.1)
dnj v04 - 6mb used of storage, 85mb free of memory really nice (build 19202 WM 6.1)
GhettoFreeRyders v613a - fastest, most tweaked rom it looks (build 19716 WM 6.1)

I wish I could combine things from these 3.. Definitely the 6mb pagepool seems to be shinning, GhettoFreeRyders has no2chem battery tweak, also touchflo and touchpanel registry tweaks out the box (super good),

1. pagepool....you can change the pagepool on any RUU_signed.nbh before flashing. If you don't have the program, get it here:
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OM...ol_Changer.zip

2. registry tweaks.....are you using UC? If not, check it out, you can run all your tweaks post flash:
