Hey here's the minimal icon set as individual .tga files - I've added a few of my own and its ready to use with skinning apps such as wisbar advance desktop... There's two versions of each icon - the standard and the pushed version (using both adds a nice animation effect in Wisabr) hope they're of use....

No Worries - they're a nice clean design.. Have you thought of making some matching task bars, clock faces, windows skins etc? You have the beginnings of a smoking hot theme there and it'd also be great to have a theme that isnt Vista or the iPhone (is it just me or is originality in short supply when it comes to themes?):headbang:

Re: Minimal Cube

backgrounds take up the full screen, and since the Touch's screen is 240 pixels wide and 320 pixels high, your images should be 240 x 320.

Re: Minimal Cube

is there any way to make a custom background fit better with the rest of the cube? i wanted a blue background but it only applies it to the two multiple app launcher sides (the contacts and media hub are unchanged). Also when the animation is playing it shows the black background, is there any way to change this?
Thanks!

Re: Minimal Cube

The only way you can change the background for the QuickDial screen is to create your own QD_Bkgd.brn. And the only way to change the MediaHub background is to create your own Media Hub buttons.

Same thing with the animation. The animation is 44 individual images, so you would need to edit each one to change the background in those.

If it helps all of the brn files can be found in \My Documents\Minimal, so you can copy them over to your computer, use the bmp to brn tool to convert them to bmps, use Gimp to edit the images, then use the convert tool to change them to brns again.

Sorry. I wish there was an easier way.

I've been playing around with MusicMan's icon packs and the BRN files for the minimal Cube and figured I may as well share what I have put together so far.
It's going fairly well so far, with two exceptions, and if anyone can help that would be fabulous.

1) Doing the image manipulations by hand is a royal PITA. It should be able to script things very easily (all I'm doing is using the invert and colorify functions in GIMP repeatedly.) I don't suppose anyone knows of a good tutorial or example on how to script repetitive actions in GIMP, or feels like writing up a (relatively) simple script (which would then serve as a good example for any other scripts.)

2) Changing the cube files. If I try to overwrite any of the cube files in use, Windows throws a hissy fit; and understandably so. How in the world do I temporarily turn off the cube?

I imagine there are answers for both of these on the web somewhere, I just have to look around for them. If I happen to find it before I hear on here I'll update my post so people don't waste time answering a question I know the answer to. I figured I'd ask since I was already going to be posting anyways.

Onto the files. The minimal*.zip files contain BMP and BRN files for everything. The minimalInvert.zip icons are a good start for colorizing things if you don't want a black background. The icon*.xcf.zip files are recolored versions of the icon pack MusicMan posted in GIMP's .xcf format.

I've found the thread on disabling the cube. Disabling the cube works fine, but the files are still locked. I removed the 'archive' property from all of the files without any luck, and I have a good 90MB of free space to work with.

Re: Minimal Cube

1. Gimp has something called Script-Fu. I have no idea how to use it, I just know it exists. I'm sure Google might have some answers, or even gimp.org

2. If you Soft reset your phone the cube has not yet been called, so you can make changes to the cube then and see those changes when you bring up the cube for the first time. I haven't tried changing images then, but it might work?
