Missing messaging on HTC Touch

Messaging has gone missing on my Touch. Just gone. Was there when I came to work this morning as I had a notify of unread messages. Trying to send a email to the phone with a link and email and text messageing are gone. Little boxes on the Today screen are there but do nothing when entered. Messaging is still there when you het the "Start" button but nothing happens.

Soft resets and powering off/on have not brought it back.

It is a pain to reset up the email address but nothing compared to setting up the phone after a hard rest. Is there a way just to reload messaging or am I looking at a hard reset.

Phons is a CDMA Touch (with I believe is the Vogue south of the border) on the BELL Canada network.

TIA

Do you have emails being saved to your MicroSD? If so, your database is corrupt. Delete the folders on the MicroSD will help but will not return the messages.

No emails saved, I read it then delete it and keep it on the server to download and file at home. No attachments either.

Problem is messageing program appears gone. Is there somewhere I can download it and reinstal (from the net or device ) or am I looking at a hard reset to get it back.

I had the exact same problem. All my messaging worked fine. One day I go to work, messaging is good, I can sed/receive. Then later in the day I try to click on messaging and nothing shows up. Outlook and SMS messaging are missing in action. i ended up hard reseting. I think before I did that I should have gon e in to the Windows folder and tried messaging from the main .exe. The shortcut (or the exe itself) is in the Windows Folder on the device. Try that.

Gee though I was special with this... guess not. Thanks for the suggestions though.

No luck finding any messaging.exe file on Windows.

Looking like a hard reset will happing this weekend... guess I will try some mods and hacs before to learn how and which one's I like. Still want to try a "ITOUCH" like menu.

This is the attachments saved to storage card option, and will save you from having to do a hard reset! Delete the folder, soft reset, and your back in business with no data loss!

Cheers,
Fixed and thank you again.

hmm, I had this happen to me once about 3 weeks ago. I did a hard reset and reinstalled all my programs - restoring from a backup would not solve the problem. Then this morning it happened again! I stumbled on to this thread and just deleted the inbox folder and soft reset. All's well now. Thanks!

Some thing you might want to consider is to "disable saving attachments to the storage card" unless you are saving large file from mail....which I don't plan to.

this can be done by following these instructions.

In your message account select "tools" from the menu.
Then select "options".
Under the Storage tab make sure the box for " when available use storage card to save attachments'.

if it was ticked I would delete the inbox folder from the storage card and soft reset.

We'll see if this improves things or not.
