Clock/Time not updating in standby

I tried searching and couldn't really find anything about this problem. I saw one person making a post in the Bugs thread about his alarm clock not going off until he took the phone out of standby, and I think he's experiencing the same thing as me.

First of all, I'm not experiencing the standby issue that others seem to be having. I'm getting calls, texts, etc fine.

I just started having this problem two days ago, and I've only changed a couple of things.

The problem is that the clock doesn't update while the phone is in standby. Lets say the last time I had the phone on was 6:30am. If its 8:00am now, when I turn the phone on it will show 6:30am and then switch to 8:00am within a second or two. If I had my alarm set for 7:00am it wouldn't go off until I turned my phone on anytime after 7:00am.

When the phone was working fine, I had Windows Live pushing my email as it arrived and I also had the battery reg tweaks done.

The only thing I changed within the last two days is that I set Windows Live to Manual (to save on my battery), and I reversed the battery reg tweaks (because I've heard rumors where it can negatively affect your signal). So those reg tweaks are set back to the defaults that came with the phone.

I thought keeping an EVDO session active might help (since that's what Windows Live essentially does), so I turned on the OZ Messenger to keep it active and it didn't help at all.

Any idea what's causing this? Has anyone else noticed the problem?

I am having this problem as well and I am using the latest Helmi WM6 build. I have made no changes. My alarms seem to work...Do you have slide2Unlock? Its possible this might be related to it.

If your using slide2 unlock I think I have fixed this issue.

Goto the Start and settings
open s2u2 settings
Scroll to the bottom and under advanced turn on Don't Suspend Power

I has S2U2 installed for a couple of days but I have uninstalled it, but I *think* the problem started a few days after I uninstalled it. Maybe I'll put it back on there and check that setting.

EDIT: I set Windows Live back to "As Items Arrive" and it seems better. I'll keep checking it.

I put S2U2 back on there and changed that setting and put Windows Live back to Manual and had the same problem.

It seems to be related to Windows Live in my case. I guess I'll leave it set to As Items Arrive.

you know what i jsut realized mine is not fixed. It fixed it on the s2u2 but when i jsut unlocked it it updated the time in HTCHome

Do you use HTCHOme plugin? What version? I am currently using the 2.0 whatever latest version they used. I might go back to 1 and see if it works better

I'm using the stock ROM with the stock version of HTC Home.

Mine appears to be fine now that I made that change in Windows Live. The real test will be my alarm lol.

Ok so I adjusted my Today screen to show date and time to go along with the HTC Home. The date and time bar was always correct and then the htc home would update. It would appear their is some issue with HTC Home...I will try to research this further

mine does this as well, but there are no issues with alarms. id imagine its just that the plugin doesnt update when not in use, so when you wake it up it takes that half second to update. seems to be a non-issue
