Annoying pop up message
I've searched but haven't seen anything discussing this so far.
I live in an area where connection is iffy. I can deal with that. However, what I can't deal with is the following pop-up dialogue that interferes with whatever else I'm doing with my Touch at the moment (and I have to stop and "dismiss" it first every time it pops up): "CANNOT CONNECT Dialed: #777 Cannot conect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings. If the problem continues, reset yor mobile device according to your manufacturer's documentation and try again." How do I disable this? I really don't CARE to know that my Touch can't connect at the moment. It's pretty obvious to me to me so I don't even NEED this notification to tell me. It's irritating and frankly rather interruptive. Anyone run into this or have some knd of solution? |
the best way to overcome this would be to find out what is calling for data. a weather app/ maybe a rss program. once you find that maybe there is a setting that would disable the "auto connect if not connected feature".
otherwise the type of popup you are talking about is part of the OS and i dont think we can stop this. i could be wrong though. cody |
can't remember the page, but in the touch reg tweaks/hacks thread I think someone found a fix for this!

Annoying pop-ups prevail...!
As the saying goes... "where there is one, there are others..." and, you are not alone.
Perhaps it's an occupational hazard - for us, that is. Then again, there may be others out there that suffer the same insult when they attempt to either send an email message or simply make a phone call (which has been my issue). Truly, very frustrating! I'm using a Verizon Wireless XV6700, with Rob's MW 6.0 Professional.... and, you know, we have experienced a connection issue just last evening - where the phone kept popping into Flight Mode - regardless of how many times I would select otherwise. Talk about pissing me off...! Couldn't even get through to customer service to complain about it. Anyhow, as I said above... you are not alone! Take care. |
