Merry Christmas Everyone,

I have finally completed customizing my cube based on the iCube and I thought I would share it with everyone. The attached zip file has all of the icons and several scripts written in MortScript which change the registry to point to the copied icons. The icons used are not mine but have been gathered from all over the internet and this site. Hopefully no one objects to this non-commercial use.

Instructions:

1) Unzip the files ensuring that you retain the folder structure and that everything resides inside of a folder called eyeCube
2) Copy the eyeCube folder and its contents to your local My Documents folder on your Touch
3) Make sure iCube is installed (tested with version 1.11)
4) Ensure MortScript is installed (tested with version 4.1) and run the scripts you want to customize different faces of your cube (there are scripts for each Application face, the Media face, the Dialer face, and the Animations)
5) Reset your Touch (you may run the Reset script to reset as well)

WARNING: Backup your original icons; to return your cube to normal you may have to either hand edit the registry or do a hard reset. I have tested the install process many times and have never had a problem but your experience may vary. You can open the MortScript files in any text editor and read through what each is doing before running to ensure that you understand what is going to happen. I have included the BMP files so that you may customize your cube the way you want.

Applications You Will Need:
1) iCube and Mortscript
2) uBook (www.gowerpoint.com)
3) Google Maps
4) eWallet
5) TCPMP
6) Weather Watcher

Enjoy!

Very nice set of icons. Thank You! Thank You very much.

I have one question...
Everything installed as expected and all four sides were skinned and I followed the suggestion of removing the iCube folder to regain some memory. All still ok until I remapped one of the icons on side #2 (with Cube Config Tool 4.1). Now all of side 2 shows only the grey set of icons. Ive checked the registry and they all point to the correct icons. Any ideas?

I have remapped icons on side one without this problem.

Blank Icons

When I convert the blank icons to .brn files they are big and the text is inside the icon. Did I do something wrong?

Hi guys. Thank you for great skin, runs very smooth on my Touch. I customized all sides with the customization tool, got every thing working except the icons on the 4th side (the one that was not replaceable in the first version). Post #4 mentions that icons on this side can be changed too. I'm sure, I saw new icons after the first soft reset, after making all my changes. Later, after another soft reset, icons are back to the original stock icons. Icons have the new text labels and they are linked to the correct applications (the ones that I setup), but the new icons are not shown. I double checked the configuration, also checked registry, they all show the correct icons, but this side shows the original version only.

Am I doing something wrong?

Also, I thought at some point blank animation was added. During the animation, to the side 1, I still see the original icons, before my new ones come on top of them. May be I was wrong.

Thanks in advance,
David

As to icons not changing, make sure you have a valid Background value in the HKLM>Software>HTC>Biotouch>CustAPLauncher folder.

Blank animations have not been released yet. I've been busy over the holidays with work and also trying to restore my wife's laptop files (her HDD broke). I'll be getting back to stuff soon.

On a side note I was able to get her files by hooking the HDD up to her new iMac through a Harddrive enclosure. Wouldn't work on a PC.

The blank icons (not animations, which I commented on) are in the first post, but they are a different size than the original icons. Tha blank icons have a button size of 65x76 where as the original icons have a button size of 57x57, so the blank buttons are considerably bigger, taking up almost the entire 80x80 square.

For now I guess just re-size the blank buttons and put them on an 80x80 black square.

Thanks a lot for all the work, Musicman :-) You're right, I had one wrong address in that folder. Original one was looking in "My Documents\iCube", I had moved everything to "Program Files\iCube" and one address was not changed.

Blank animations will be good when ready. iCube is very nice even without them.

Happy New Year!
David

That's my fault due to not really understanding how the icons were sized originally. I knew they were 80x80 total size, so I blew them up to that size. Realized later, that was wrong but didn't know the exact numbers. Things are very hectic for me at the start of this new year so if anyone would like to resize them to the correct sizes and post it I'll be happy to give credit. If not, once things calm down for me a bit, I'll try and get them sized correctly.

I resized a couple at 68x68 and put on 80x80 background and they worked great!

Good morning...

I happened upon this via a link @ the xda-developers site. I currently own a Tilt and have the touchflo cube installed on the OEM Rom. Does anyone know if this application would be compatible on my device?

I'm impressed by the "icube" and the effort from those involved. Great job.

Thanks,

Geo.

I own an XDA nova (HTC touch from provider o2 256MB ROM / 128 MB RAM with german WM6).I installed the FIles4GSM.ZIP and iCubeV1_11.zip and it works out of the box.

Many links are Sprint specific, so you have to reconfigure it via the registry as described in several post in this thread. now it works perfect for me.:)

What I not could get working is the Cube Configuration Tool http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...t=directory%2A . It always crashes at start with an DirectoryNotFoundException, i assume there are some language dependend problems.
