Polen, you are the man. I actually, before i had a chance to check back here, went in and did the customization by hand. So i now have an animated 6 button with Google Maps in the top right spot.

I'm going to test around with your PS action and see what i can do.

Now, if only i could overwrite the original files rather than having to save new names, it would be much easier. This is a new foray into PPC programming for me, and i don't know how to create .CABs or edit the ROM files in the Windows directory.

Yeah, the only way I know to over write the Cube files it to use a CAB file. All the Cube files are in use and can't be over written. A Cabe file setup is smart to know this and sets up the copy after a restart, that's why it takes a bit longer to startup after installing my Cube CAB file. I use Visual Studio 2005 to make my CAB files, but there are other CAB makers out there or you can learn to make them from scratch by creating the INF file and building the CAB.

For Polen or anyone else who wants to create nice icons here is a link to a site with 100+ great icons: http://www.userinterfaceicons.com/ I have cross-posted as it looks like there are two threads on similar topics.

Okay...i have to officially admit. I don't have a clue what i'm doing with trying to create a CAB file. Is it a difficult process?

For creating CABS, I use Aperitto's Pocket PC Installation Creator which you can find here:
http://www.aperitto.com/content/view/14/159/lang,en/

For replacing the files in your Windows folder from your device, you can use Total Commander. I have direct linked to the installer for the Touch here:

@ Polen:

Are you looking into making differnt cube colors or different cube backgrounds? Like a black cube, or pink for the girls and what not.

Polen and MusicMan -

Finally...some success. I have, using a combination of tools to de-construct and then reconstruct the CAB files you already offered (i'm not a programmer, and am still not comfortable writing files like the .inf you start with), managed to create my own custom cube faces and animations.

I sucessfully used your photoshop actions to easily edit all the pages. I only wish there was an easy way of chaing the d:\ drive to c:\ with the subst command. But this has worked, and i suppose will continue to work in the future, as i'm not sure how to step into each action.

I just really wanted to thank you for putting so much effort into this so that a few of us could enjoy our "toys" a little more.

Thanks
