I'm with Bell (in Canada) and it dont work either...
I was also exited when I saw the news... but it doesn't work... any clue ? |
if you go to help>about and scroll to the bottom it will say myl: N/A. That just means that the touch isn't seeing the cell towers. Cause GMM works based off cell towers. So if there is a way to hack the registry to have it see the towers.

well my girl has it on her 8700 and its nowhere near that accurate, at least driving in a car...

One of my friends use it on his RIM 8300 and it works really good. I wish I could use it on my Touch.

I have a blackberry 7130e. The location works great, I made it follow me from Kansas City to Springfield Mo. Followed the highway right on. The only real problem is that it updates pretty slow (I was in 1x so that might effect it). Only updates every 2-3 miles or 1-2 minutes at 80mph.
The sad part to this is that I use my BB so little I had to look up my phonenews.com profile to remember the model number as it is in the car. |
Why is this not working on the touch, and is there anything in the works , other then gps , to get this triangulation bit working on the touch. I thought is read google is updating this feature, ???????????????

I don't think it's anything Google can do. Seeing as Sprint, Bell (Canada) and Telus (which I'm on) are all CDMA, and this feature doesn't work for any of us...I'd guess it has something to do with CDMA vs GSM. That'd be my guess anyway...
