XT9, you really should try it

I know there are a bajillion keyboard threads... but everytime I would read about the XT9 on the Touch keyboard i would just think back to flip phones featuring T9 input that I NEVER ever used.

And I will be completely honest, I actually never knew what XT9 input was!

So I wanted to start this thread to help people who (a) don't know what XT9 is and (b) to help encourage people that are worried about not having a hardware keyboard, that XT9 might just be up their alley!

So with XT9, you basically do not use double tapping! You just tap once wherever the letter is that you are looking for. As you single tap the letters, the XT9 dictionary will scan for the most common combination of the letters you have tapped. For example, you tap 'cv' then 'op' then 'ty'...

XT9 will suggest 'cot' and 'coy' among others and then in the bar just above the keys you tap the word you want and a space is entered, or if the word you would like is first, you can just tap space.

I know I know, its sounds like its really complicated. BUT seriously, give it a shot, you might just be impressed!! Plus you can add words along the way, like shmuhbuduh if its a word you like to use but isnt in the dictionary.

P.S. how do we backup our personal XT9 dictionary if we ever need a hard reset???
