issue with my xv6900

hi, im sorry if this has been covered before, i did a search and didnt find anything on it.
my phone recently stopped working, whenever i power it on, it shows the verizon screen, sits there for a minute, then says "no radio", and just sits on that screen. i cant even power it off unless i take the battery out.
I have tried hard resets, taking the battery out, and even doing the reformat, but it still wont work. does anyone have any thoughts?

put it in bootloader mode and flash a new radio or rom..

Re: issue with my xv6900

would you be able to tell me how to do that? im not very well versed on how phone stuff like that works

EDIT: i found the way to get it into bootloader mode, by hitting power, camera, and reset at the same time.. but this does not appear to work, as it just goes right back to the same screen which says "no radio"

Download the Verizon stock rom here:
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/Wh...ogue%20ROM.exe

Put your device into bootloader again (power, camera, reset) and it should say serial toward the bottom. Then connect your usb cable with your pc and it should change to usb. Then flash that rom. After the flash is complete I recommend you hard reset. :)

Hmm...did you do anything before this started? Installed something or attempted to unlock or anything?
Maybe you need to flash the original shipped rom not the last verizon update that I linked you to.

This should be the original shipped:

http://rapidshare.com/files/10745929...RUU_signed.rar

Flash it the same way.

Re: issue with my xv6900

well it originally came with winmo 6, i upgraded to 6.1 once.. but that was shortly after i got the phone and it worked fine for its entire warranty year. it only recently crapped out on me.. i havent done anything special to it.

i downloaded that file.. winrar says its corrupt and i couldnt complete the extract.

Are you flashing from the SD card or an RUU? Try using one of the radio's in my signature rename it to voguimg.nbh place it on a freshly fat32 formatted card and place the phone into bootloader. I recommend 3.42.30 radios are not carrier specific so any in the link will work.

Put it in the root directory(not in a folder) of your FAT32 formatted 2GB or less SDcard. Put the card in your device. Then put your device in bootloader mode and your device will flash the radio. :D

how do you know if its FAT32 formatted?

Well, just re-format it fat32 with your pc or laptop. The card that came with your vogue would work great.

How long did you let it load?
Try doing it again and wait a few min then soft reset.

Re: issue with my xv6900

Also, try using this radio:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...7&d=1245986897

That is the Verizon Vogue radio. It is zipped so you'll need to extract it to the root directory of your card. There should be nothing else on that card.

ha...i caught you. i knew you still had a vogue (strike a pose). lol.jk.

he wont be able to flash a radio because he is not unlocked. only signed rom will work (if anything), which is the stock shipped rom. do you guys have task29 for the vogue? or maybe he needs to use mtty

Did you try flashing that Verizon Radio I posted?

How about putting just the Verizon shipped stock rom that I posted on your card the same way(in root directory of fat32 formatted 2gb or less storage card) then put your device in bootloader(power, camera, reset) and flash the stock rom. That SHOULD work! :violent1:

Almost forgot!
RENAME that radio or rom to voguimg.nbh in the root dir of your card!!
Sorry! :spin:

just want to make sure you did it right. you have to extract the shipped rom and rename the nbh file.
just use this rom http://www.pcdphones.com/downloads/X...grade_file.zip
i just downloaded that one and extracted the exe file and the nbh is already named VOGUIMG.nbh, so all you have to do is put that file on the root of your mem card and then put your phone into bootloader.

Re: issue with my xv6900

that last one did actually run when i put in the card, but after it updated, i still get the same thing that says "no radio"
this is very frustrating =(

ok...try this. delete that nbh off the mem card then put your phone in bootloader mode and connect it to the computer and flash the rom by opening the RUU_Vogue_VZW_WWE_3.14.605.1_Radio_3.37.78_Ship.ex e file.

You could try what razor told you but I think you may need to run mtty and supercid. This will basically format your device. Here is a guide for you:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...51&postcount=5

Just follow the directions starting where you put your vogue in bootloader and after you are done flash the shipped rom.

You have to press and HOLD both camera and power buttons. While keeping those buttons down (and don't let go!), press the reset button with your stylus and then pull the stylus out - all the while still hoding down the power and camera buttons until the multicolor boot screen comes up. Then follow the other directions above...

Usually they do that when the battery is bad. Any way you could borrow a battery and charge it up and then try again.
Maybe go to your carrier's local store and see if they would swap your battery.

Though you seem to be gone from this forum now, smaug, I've clicked your 1st 'Thanks' rep for the way you emphasized the key presses needed to get into bootloader mode. Was having the hardest time with a very stubborn dead Vogue from eBay. What finally worked was sort of pressing all 3 buttons as close to simultaneously as physically possible, and then releasing reset button while still holding other two. Your wording helped me toward success. Thanks.

I have a HTC XV6900. When I silence my phone and set my alarm, the phone tells me: "alarm will not soun until the volum is turned up in the sounds and notifications setting" When I look for the area to increase the volume on my phone, I can't find where to turn up the volume. There is no button in the more section either. Can you help me? Jeff jmm19660901@yahoo.com
