8 gig micro sd CARDS

What Is The Highest Sd Card The Touch Can Handle Straight Out The Box Or Do I Need A Software Update

I am also interested in this, though i do not know the answer i would like to know..however i have heard that its 2 gigs out of the box..hopefully theres something that could be done to hold more

I'm personally running a 6GB SD card as we speak with no problems at all. I think it's ready for up to 8GB out of the box. Currently MicroSD top out at 8GB, and I don't think they are out til later this month.

microSD 8s are already available...

And technically, the drivers on the Touch should support the max of the microSDHC standard. I've heard that is 32GB but I could be wrong.

Where have you seen them in the US?

I see that a couple of US sites (buy, jr) finally have them listed, but as either backordered or for pre-order. They do appear to be generally available in the UK.
