Other uses for the Vogue

So, every phone in their lifetime has that day. Its the day that signifies the end. For my Vogue, that day is approaching rapidly. I'll be getting an HTC Incredible as soon as verizon stores stock it. Thats not to say I dont still have a place in my heart for the vogue. I still like this little device very much.

It just wont be able to get phone service. So i'm wondering to myself "What can I do with it now?"

Is there anything i'll be able to do with my Vogue once I switch phones that could still be worthwhile? I wont be carrying it with me everywhere, but maybe some function at home?

You could make it into a dedicated music/video player or a standalone gps unit for your vehicle. ;)

I think the vogue has had a great run and it was a great phone but yeah im sure most are moving on by now. Even on ebay & craigslist i barley see anymore for sale. Before i bought my hero i almost picked up one to just run android on it.

I loved my Vogue, but being as it dont have wifi its pretty useless without data.
And even if you loaded Garmin or Tomtom, it still dont lock all that great without AGPS.
Id flash it to Android, put a buncha apps on it and keep it as a toy.

I'm thinking in installing Android to it but would like to try it first (microSD) if possible. I wouldn't like to get ride of it.

Is there a good guide to getting it to work as a standalone GPS? I keep searching and am coming up with nada.

I have mine on Bell's fun 20 prepaid and i dual boot WM on root and Android Donut on 8g SDCard. The fun20 gets you unlimited data, and txt messages. I can talk on it but i don't cause voice is not unlimited, only use it as a data device. I use a custom wm for internet tethering, and android for everything else.
It's future abilities are way beyond its time, still it does suck that there's no internal WiFi built into these models.

Ooooooo, this thread just got interesting! Very much looking for the answer to THAT one! Cause if you could BT tether off a PC data, then you could probably turn it into a webcam that's always on when you want it to be.

I hope that's the case.
