Going on a month with my Touch, 2G card which is used all the time, and no problems so far.

The company I work for has three Verizon XV6900's using 8GB MicroSDHC cards directly from Verizon, and in about two months of use, all three have had card corruption and data loss, and mine has occurred several times. I am currently experimenting with a 1GB MicroSD and so far have not had any problems after about two weeks.

I had corruption using the original rom that came with mine, but since flashing to the "released", knock on wood, I haven't had issues.

Thanks for that post! I had a mem card crash last night, and I realized that it was due to leaving a couple of apps running (camera, camera album) got distracted, and the phone went into standby. Opened the card in file explorer and sure enough, a card full of wacked out stuff and even my backups were gone. Since the first time this happened, I have almost daily made backups of the SD card. I'm still running the stock ROM. I guess it's time to try flashing a custom ROM to see if it's better, but I think if it happens again that this one's going to have to be replaced.

I tried the patch from XDA. (Attached) After installing it I see it adds a few new registry entries, one notable is that it adds a Disable Power Management key. I hope that it fixes the issue (crossed fingers) and this is the end of the problem. To those with the problem,
1-Close all SD card apps when done. (in particular the camera album!!)
2-If using Pocket plus, remove the storage card icon/indicator.
3-Back up SD card regularly.

Had it happen constantly until I upgraded to the Alltel+custom Telus 6.1 ROM. All issues with corruption have disappeared.

i had problems with my card just about every week i dont remember going more than a week without my card going south but ever since i updated to the new official leaked rom i havent had any issues(knock on wood) i think that the new rom takes care of it thank god for all ppcgeeks out there for all your help and to all that still run the stock rom you should upgrade the new rom and gps is awesome and alot more stable than the stock.:headbang:

I never had a problem with my 8GB Sandisk but then a few weeks after upgrading to the new Offical ROM from the leaked WM6.1 ROM, my card became corrupted after doing a soft reset. There wasn't anything running that would be accessing my storage card prior to the reset. When my phone booted back-up I could not see my storage card anymore. Tried it in a card reader but to no avail. I just bought it back in March too! Now I have to wait for my replacement.

Is there any way to delete the unreadable files off the sd card? I have one file that's 2.75gb on my 8gb sdhc for my touch. Thanks for all of your info so far.
