It's strange some folks have opera mini issues with Jbed and some don't. I think I'm willing to give up full screen if Intent fixes opera mini hangs.

By the way I don't think full screen hang is unrecoverable because it's full screen. The Phone is locked up when opera mini hangs period (full screen or no full screen). Power button should allow reboot regardless of full screen and it doesn't.

Indeed? I want to use opera mini but I'd like to still be able to use my Sprint Music and Sprint TV

Just keep Sprint Music installed in the java that came on your phone and use Intent for everything else.

I just tried Intent to avoid hanging problems with Jbed and it ran really bad.

1) No full screen (I really miss full screen)
2) Scrolls so slow sometimes I thought it was hung (this was the show stopper)
3) OPera asks to connect every time.
4) Can't exit Midlet, have to kil process.
5) Have to set focus to textbox every time you enter text

Open Sprint Music with original java

I'm a noob, how exactly do I do that?

Interesting.

I only have number 1 and 5. And that's not really a deal-breaker for me.

I don't have any other issues with it or any other applets... unless Jbed is running in the background. If I have another JVM running in the background, Intent can grind to a halt. Did you soft-reset after installing it? Opera should only ask to connect the after every soft-reset or every time you close and re-open Intent. In fact, I don't think mine even asks every time I re-open it... just when I soft rest.

EDIT: Yeah I do have to give it permission when I first open Intent... but it works fine after that.

How the heck do you exit it? There is no Exit command.

Yes I rebooted, will try again. Something is whacked.

P.S. See my Survey on trying to get to the bottom of why the mixed results from folks.

Exit = press and hold X until it closes.

Something doesn't sound right. No other apps running in the background?

I just tested this out by pulling up Intent while I was doing a backup of the microSD via activesync and didn't even notice much of a slowdown once the applet was up and running. =/

Soft rebooted.

Prompted for connect.

Exited Opera (then killed Midlet using Quick Menu)
Started again and it prompted again.

Sure if you never exit Midlet and background it may not prompt.

Figured out what is going on with scrolling.

If you use Scrollbars it hangs (i.e. stops scrolling). If you drag pages around it works fine and can bring it back to life once the scrollbars get stuck. I like using the scrollbars on large pages. Much quicker than drag drag drag all over. I just use dragging to fine adjust a page.

What's the big deal with it prompting? Its better than freezing. I'm sure it can be disabled somehow... I'll have to look. Really though... there's no reason to close it... just leave it as a background app. It doesn't affect performance at all. Intent can run very nicely in the background.

As for the scrolling, yeah I just noticed that. I usually use my finger or the dpad to scroll so I never noticed.

It seems as though if the scrollbar freezes though, a quick tap on the empty part of the scrollbar realigns it and makes it work again.

anyone have any suggestions on why on my phone when using opera mini it continues to scroll up and down on pages even after I let go of the d pad. anybody with this problem please let me know and if there are any suggestions on how to make this go away. I have never had this problem with any other phone except this one. I thought maybe it was my d pad sticking but it does it going up and down and left and right
