Need someone to confirm this isn't just my imagination, but I think this registry hack made my network performance *much* faster (especially in regards to resco radio streaming or slingmobille slinging..)

HKLM\comm\tcpip\params\TcpWindowSize (changed to hex 0x18000 or dec 98304...)

might be your imagination... WM is supposed to do auto window scaling since the window size depends on the path the connection is taking. But it might make a difference if it was set very low - what was it before you changed it?

32k

I would love for someone else to try this... I was trying to use resco radio yesterday - and it kept stopping the stream/rebufferring.. It's been rock-solid streaming today with the 96k setting... It could be just a coincidence.. but....

Ah 32k is pretty low - mine was at 64k, didn't see any difference between 64k and 96k. So yep, you probably are not seeing things

Make Your PocketPC Faster

Open your registry editor on your Pocket PC
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\
3. Change the value of 'limit' from 8192 to 16384… or even to 32768 for a faster setting but eats up more memory
4. Close registry editor and soft reset.

HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS

I changed the CacheSize key from 0 to 8192 and it seems to have sped up my ppc.
You Got it from Hai-zi's tweaks and tips on SprintMogul.net

Thanx. I didn't want it to seem like I was taking credit. I just wanted to pass it on.

I'm intrigued. What exactly does this improve?

Would love to get confirmation on these two hacks. Anyone try them on the Touch? I thought that I remembered reading that neither one was worth doing on the Mogul. Speaking about the last couple of hacks that were posted.
