It seems they can be as small as you want.

Multiple app launchers is my next project. I think the Cube can be configured to have more than three sides. we'll see!

That would be wonderful.

I'll admit, while I'm a die hard WM lover (all the way back to the WindowsCE on my old Compaq Aero) I have a bit of a mancrush on the pure black background with the small square icons of the iPhone.

It would be great to be able to have the cube with the same background look as the iphone themes have been using recently, with the ability to flick to go page to page of apps to launch.

Well, 4 sides is working. just needs animations. Should be done by today....hopefully.

Thanks for the great cab. There's not a possibility of getting the 8 sides without the new background? It doesn't integrate well with the stock cube.

Congrats for blazing the trail to the 8-button cube side, and now a 4-side cube? Impressive! Attached is a GIF screenshot showing the binaries you requested (couldn't capture as text, and am too much of a keyboard clutz to trust my typing them). Thanks again for your contributions, MrG

I just wanted you to know how much you SAVED THE FREAKING DAY!

Thanks a lot! I should have this 4 sided thing figured out pretty soon now.

As far as a program to allow you to change these things on the fly, that's gonna take a lot more programming knowledge than I have. Sorry.

Have you already added a Cube 4? Using the pattern they have, and reworking it to add Cube 4, this is what I get:
