HTC touch vogue flashed metro pcs

i have had a htc touch and it has flashed to metro for 5 to 6 months now. just the other day it started freezing up on me and taking over 2 to 3 hours to load from off. i was wondering if i reloaded to rom, and inserted the prl if that would fix my phone. i have looked at other phone, i guess i have gotten to use to it. does anybouy thing this will work?
