Who has GPS locks on their Vogue?

driving myself crazy trying to get GPS working on my Wife's Vogue. Who has luck getting it to work?

Some have reported running PPST.exe works, well I tried that, DOH! I'm on USCC, not sprint, screwed up my data connection, but got it back by dialing ##786# then menu RESET and it reset my phone, WHEW! Also by QPST doing a backup of the QCS or QSC file from service programming BEFORE I ever messed up the data connection, then going into downloads from QPST and downloading the saved file back to my phone, VIOLA! :D anyhow I'm wondering how many have GPS working and how many do NOT and what people who have it working have in common and what those who do NOT have it working have in common. I have a Touch Pro and it works great with GPS. Also had my Mogul working, not as good as my Touch Pro, but worked every time, unlike the Vogue. :(

I have an Alltel Touch and the wifes Sprint Touch both fully flashed to cricket and both have fully functional GPS. When I flashed them I followed the Alltel GPS thread in the Titan forum changed a few thing for the Vogue like the unlocker and ROMs. Flashed both with the Sprint shipped ROM, used QPST to modify the GPSone setting flashed a custom ROM then made the needed Registry edits and presto good working GPS. Locks in less then 5 seconds in my basement.

Can you tell me what radio version you have and what your QPST settings are for GpsOne? I am desperate and have spent many long hours late into the night trying to get this to work. Much appreciated!!

As I understand it, the problems Vogue users have with gps stem from the pri in the stock shipped roms from Verizon. They set it up on the last rom update so the 3.xx.xx gps capable radios would only function with Verizon's Navigator App. So essentially locking gps for anything else. This is probably the same for Alltel. Especially since Alltel is part of Verizon now. I did not know USCellular sold Vogues. I don't know about those. I hope my info is correct and I hope this helps to explain some things. :)

Yeah, US Cellular calls them the "Touch". Same thing though, the ID is the Vogue.

I run the 3.42.50 Radio on my alltel Touch and the 3.42.30 on the wifes Sprint Touch both flashed to cricket. As for my GPSone setting in QPST they are for cricket and are carrier specific.

If you want to give it a try go up to the stickys and follow my tutorial on how to flash the Vogue to cricket just skip the cricket setting and add your own.

Re: Who has GPS locks on their Vogue?

Ok, weird but all my tinkering around led to her Vogue seeing NO SATS at ALL. So I decided to flash back to the stock rom, which is WM6.1. Then I installed QuickGPS. I also added the VIRSER_GPS.dll (because I noticed it wasn't started when I looked at the devices in the freddotnet task manager, which was because the dll wasn't there) and started that up, VIOLA!! GPS locks now from INSIDE the house, under 2 mins!!!! :D
But alas, my wife LOVES the WM6.5 ROM I had on there.. so I exported the registry entries related to GPS and making note of the gps dlls on the 6.1 rom and we'll see if I can't get it working on the 6.5 rom.

Thanks... ironically she would hardly ever use the gps, if at all. More of a "I gotta get this da*n thing workin'!" issue for me I guess. I finally gave her back her phone, I've been messin' with it for about 24 hours, lol.

Re: Who has GPS locks on their Vogue?

Hmmm...

A while ago I too had major issues with GPS not working on my Vogue (Verizon).

I then followed that thread on XDA on:

- loading old Coke
- loading non GPS ROM (stock)
- loading new Coke
- loading latest Verizon GPS ROM - DO NOT LET CUSTOMIZATIONS RUN
- loading NFSFAN's or Vin's latest ROMs

I get GPS locks without much issues now, about 30-45 seconds cold, about 15 secs max otherwise.
