Alien, I would love to have a copy of your completed Ervius Kitchen. I tried hard to make it work for me and simply could not do it... I'd love to compare them.

No it must be right NOW! ;-) Also, I don't need a tutorial. I just need a working Kitchen to see what I did wrong.

Sooo It was your job on recmodding 21854 stuff (other then brows..)?I knew that reducing quantity of modules is always good, but wasnt sure which ones...I think all .mui can be recmodded for sure.I know some people tryed to recmod qwes.exe and even compress it with UPX lol. That didnt worked

bikeandestroyx 09-12-2009 05:44 AM

Re: Ervius Visual Kitchen for Vogue

Check out this thread http://www.everythingdiamond.info/showthread.php?t=490 Shows you what to recmod and what not too!
Also the amount of ram matters more than the amount of modules, as you can see next to the modules there is a hex equation, solve it and see how much you have left. Try to keep this number low as possible, around 30,000

is this right

SLOT 0: 0x02000000 - 0x01020000 (END: 0x00060000, 112 MODULES)

change to dec

33554432 - 16908288 = 16646144

now does this i can recomd some more modules? but it will cost more ram?

yes you definately need to recmod more, recmod all the files that are mentioned in the post on edtp i linked you too. That will help a lot.
you need to lower the value in that equation thats a lot of space the modules are taking up.

ok thanks ill do that as soon as i get 23047 up and running, im having a real battle gettin 23047 booting edit: ok it just boot but i had to delete half the sys to get it to boot (would normally just sit on 2nd splash)

woohoo got it to boot finally had to recomd a bunch of modules to get total number of modules down to 389 (it was at 520 ) this is how memory map looks and dec equation

Memory Map...
SLOT 0: 0x02000000 - 0x01dd0000 (END: 0x00060000, 0 MODULES)
0x02000000 - 0x01fd0000 - ROM 0
0x01f90000 - 0x01dd0000 - ROM 1
SLOT 1: 0x04000000 - 0x02110000 (END: 0x02020000, 285 MODULES)
RAM IMAGE: 0x80000000 - 0x80297020
RAM: 0x80298000 - 0x8032a000 - Used for kernel modules
0x8032a000 - 0x87900000 - 117 MB free
... done!

SLOT 0: 0x02000000 - 0x01dd0000 (END: 0x00060000, 0 MODULES)

33554432 - 31260672 = 2293760

uploading now,lol prolly take about 1 hr at the least, just remeber tho that, its only a sys kitchen no ext (oem) packages u have to add them, and that i guess its only a beta or test run

sys = 23047
xip = 23047
taken generic oem from ppck kitchen for now and not all of it
same with the drivers

the best way to set up VK is dump the latest shipped rom, it will set it up automatically for you. Then convert your oems to exts and move them all to VK

Something wrong with that recmodding list..I had no luck with 21854,went back to my 23016.Now did all recmodding to it and got exactly the same problems as with 23854.All I see is a startmenu,no titanium. After clear storage Titanium showed up and half of the sys shortcuts gone lol.It has something to do with my OEMs,but still...

Everything works..I think it has something to do with the Phone,Phone Redist,Redist.Because everything works without carriers and dialers, could be wrong
Also found this:MediaOS = wmcore.dll, wmpocx.dll only here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=6884

What am I doing wrong. I still have the same problem when I spent hours and days trying to learn how to use a VK. I start the VK and there is no option to Create ROM...

I just placed your exact download ali3nfr3ak in a folder and ran the EXE.

I've read through this so many times it makes my eyes bleed, but I still can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Please advise or send me somewhere else to read, so I can figure this out.

sorry i think thats my fault for not explaining things very well,

after running exe click load rom, if it dosent come up straight away navigate to folder \KITCHEN\Tools\RomSaved and choose VOGUE.erv wait a couple a secs until all has finished loading then you will be able to click crreate rom

Thanks! I think all of the guides neglected to point out that basic step...

Well, I just got the ROM built and tried to flash and I got some error when I was flashing about the nbf file not being valid for my phone... Ideas?

Maybe this is a silly question, but why are you concerned about a 6mb ram increase at idle, when you have 128mb total? I see you've achieved 111mb, but what the hell are you going to use all that for? I've never seen my ram decrease to less than 40mb.

its not all about the ram increase , for this kitchen that was just a side effect after using and getting it running, its more the stability of the rom with being to see exactly how many modules are in slot 0 seeing as vogues do not have a 6.5 native kernel

Well I just set it up, was gonna try building and I'll let you know, but how do I add all my oems from buildos to this?
Can someone link me to a tut or something? I'd appreciate it :)

Also, how do I select the carrier?
Where does it put the built ROM? in the temp folder? Nothing in mine is flashable :S

Sorry but I have no clue about this stuff lol
