Hello,

I was going to flash my phone but wasn't sure what you meant by this line - 7. Leave PagePool at default and use the Standalone PP changer on built rom before flashing.

Re: [Updated 7/21/09] WM6.5 SYS 23008 for PPCKitchen

Dont change the pagepool in ppckitchen...it wont work, so just use the PPChanger.exe i put in the folder for you on the .nbh

Re: [Updated 7/21/09] WM6.5 SYS 23008 for PPCKitchen

Whosdaman - sure - I'll be happy to run it - but it asks me what ROM file to run it on. Can you tell me what/where to select? I'm not sure where the built in rom is that I should be running it on.

Can I just skip this step?

boe 07-29-2009 05:57 PM

Re: [Updated 7/21/09] WM6.5 SYS 23008 for PPCKitchen

When I try to run it - it looks like it is going to build it and update my phone but then I get this pop up window-

BuildOS

Kitchens\ppckitchen_OEM.rar

File create error (C:\documents and settings\me\application data\hIq Inc\PPC-BuildOS\9.05.3.0Temp\temp\dump\eT9dictionary.dll

There are many other files in that folder and it can create those without issues - just not that one. I deleted the folder - it created it again on restarting the buildos process but it still fails on that file. There is already a folder it creates very soon during the build process so it looks like it is trying to copy the file there which it wouldn't be able to do if the folder exists with the same name. Not sure how to resolve this. Everytime I delete the folder - even up two levels it recreates all the subfolders including the one with the name of the file it looks like it is trying to create.

EDIT - I think I found the issue - it comes with new dialer in the vogue_drivers. If you don't select a dialer it won't have competing et9 dll's

Re: [Updated 7/21/09] WM6.5 SYS 23008 for PPCKitchen

i've been cooking some ROMs to my liking lately using the files from this thread and from Jtuite, wonderful job guys, one question though...

i am using the 23008 files, everything is almost perfect except for one thing, every time i cook a ROM, there is a file in the Startup folder that tried to run (at startup of course) and fails to run, so i get an error message, i can't remember the exact name of the file but is like... MSDMMS.exe or something like that.

what i do is erase it from the startup folder after a flash and the ROM works just fine, but i don't know what this files is for, is there any way to erase it from the kitchen files or a reg so that this error doesn't happen every time i cook a new ROM?

thanks

WDM,

How is the finger interface on the 21935 build. Is it ready for prime time or is there alot that still needs tweaking. I have been happy with the 23*** builds, but would like to venture into the world of the 219** builds.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: [Updated 7/30/09] WM6.5 SYS 21935 & 23016 for PPCKitchen

I am currently using 21935 right now, and it's become usuable...still somethings MS has to fix, but it's a work in progress

(For everyone who doesn't know, 219** builds are WM 6.5.1)

23016 is excellent, best 6.5 ive used yet

But the 21935 doesnt need much at all

alright the file trying to load at startup is called, "setMMSMDN", i am using 23016 and still errors, but i always ditch the MSN junk like money and stuff from the Sys_Common, maybe that has something to do?

another question: what value are you guys using for pagepool? i don't change it in my kitchen but just wonder what you guys use.

WDM,

Dont we need the new XIP that goes with the SYS? Has the DPI changed?

Could you upload the 23004 contents one more time?

Thanks,
Steve

21936 won't boot for me. I've tried everything now, as well as the update you just re-uploaded. I thought maybe it was the Startup Animation not being compatible because it gets to the screen just before that and just freezes, but I removed the animation and no change. It just sits there for a long time and then reboots.

Going to try 21935 and see what happens.

I just flashed 21936 for the first time myself with the update I just posted and it works perfect....

Remember that there is no 21936 XIP only the 21935....so dont edit it leave everything the way it is

Hmm... maybe it's my selections this time? I finally got sick of 21501 and decided to take the plunge here. Downloaded and installed 21936 per included ReadMe.txt, and went pretty minimalistic on the selections...

...I skipped the Page Pool Changer, but I took that as optional... was that wrong?

Well, I know I copied everything to the correct folders so I'm not sure what happened but I went back to my old 21501 kitchen selections so that I can at least have a working device.

Maybe I'll uninstall and do a fresh install of the kitchen and redownload everything and start over tomorrow.

BTW - I tried to upload the build log but "Your file of 43.1 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 19.5 KB for this filetype." --- really not even 20k?

EDIT: Ok then... zipped it - build log.txt attached.

Ok, I just tried again with 21936 this morning after rolling back to 21501 last night. 21501 works fine as did all other builds before... once I re-download and copy over 21935 or 21936 kitchen files and rebuild, I can no longer get a successful build. The device just sits at the loading screen and reboots over and over.

I saved the log to file and attached here... thank you in advance, I'd really like to move past 21501 because there are quite a few bugs left in that build.
