Install WModem Drivers
Install QPST 2.7
Install PcPro602Setup.exe (on your computer and on your phone via active sync)

Put Serf Telus aGPS.cab on your phones storage card (for later use).

Using PCpro (or other software to let you run command line shells), connect to your phone and using the command prompt tool, go to the c:\windows directory and type the following w/out quotations: "dmrouter.exe /diag"

This will put your phone in diagnostics mode, and terminate your active sync connection. If this is the first time on the computer, let it install the device properly before moving forward. This is also why we installed the wmodem drivers, it lets your computer see your phone as an HTC USB hub for programming.

If the today screen popped up, go back to active programs (normally from the list button in the upper-right corner of the phone) and select the DRM program.
Start QPST Configuration.
Go to the ports tab and select to make a new port.
Find the usb connection, which should be your phone.
Select Start Clients from the menu bar and select "service programming"
Select Ok.
Now select read from phone, and select Ok using the default "000000"
Click Save as in order to make a backup of the orig config.
Navigate to the gpsone tab.
Ensure all checkboxes are marked on the left side, and enter the following server inforamtion:

PDE IP Address: 216.198.139.92
PDE Port Number: 8889
PDE Transport: IP
Position Calculation: PDE

Exit the DMR app on the phone and perform a soft reset.

Run Serf Telus aGPS.cab

Perform another soft reset.

I don't have links to all the software, but jtuite's first post has most of that covered. This just sums everything up. I'm not trying to steal anyone's thunder, all of this information belongs to others who all deserve their credit.

Normally with custom roms you let the customizations run....

I was running the generic 21725 Rom and I thought it was great, but I decided to try the Sprint specific one and I am experiencing quick battery drain. Was something changed in this version that would cause this and is anyone else experiencing this?

for verizon all you need to do is dial ##3424# to start dmrouter on your phone if you don't want to install PcPro602. this is just a shortcut if you don't like downloading extra software.

Good show, I was always doing it wrong without having the 2nd and third # signs in there....Thanks. I'll also update my post so that it isn't giving off bad info anymore.

this is exactly what I did to get my phone where it is now and I never had any problems with flashing or connecting to the net. first I unlocked with
unlocker 2.31 (here is a tut on unlocking) then I flashed the bell ROM to update the radio to 3.42.50 DO NOT LET CUSTOMIZATIONS RUN!!. then I had to call verizon for a new A key. after that I flashed a custom ROM and followed these directions to get gps working.
for the people that accidentally let customizations run and locked the gps capabilities, here is a tutorial on how to fix that. (on step 4 flash with Bell ROM not vzw)

I tried this exactly--didn't let customizations run on the bell rom, flashed your rom, and couldn't dial ##778 (thats what the nice verizon lady said I needed to dial to get my A-key back) So I ran the Verizon leaked 3.37 radio without letting customizations run, then ran your rom but it still wouldn't work. I'm in the middle of running 3.37 AND letting customizations run just so I can get my phone to work! If that doesn't work I guess I'll go back to radio 3.32 radio and see what happens...

Can you think of anything I did wrong?

Did you try dialling ##778# instead of just ##778?
Sometimes that works.
I know that's what was happening with nfsfan's dialer that he had on v7 rom.

Thanks for making a VZW ROM. I've tried the generics but they seem to not be as good as they should be on verizon phones.
