Re: OpenGL Driver
I know it's possible on the Vogue, i've known it even before DZO did it, people just make excuses I wish I knew half the stuff NFSFAN did then I would have had this done long ago

I hope to learn even the least bit of the knowledge he has about the phones. Maybeeee someeee day. :D But Like I have stated a few times, we still only need the one file I kept quoting, I'm not quoting it anymore, haha, look back at my previous posts, that's the only file we need and then we can get all of this stuff to work and get tf3d!!! |

And then he said there's no vzw stores with the diamond in his area. I think it's pretty much over till we can find a stock rom for it. And the stock rom will only matter if it has the dll/driver that I quoted back a few posts ago. Nfsfan has everything done but that one dll/driver. |

This is a quote from NFSFAN "The calls being made are addressed directly to the framebuffer. Linux doesn't have D3D, it has OpenGL. The same idea wouldn't really work in WinCE" So DZO's fix doesn't work for windows. I've pm'd chainfire and a few of the others who did the work getting drivers for the Polaris, Kaiser and Nike but their response was none of them own qvga devices anymore and are not interested in helping develop new drivers. At least we have a talented guy like NFSFAN still helping us. Those guys can say what they wannt about him, at least he is still developing for a device he no longer uses.......to me that says alot. Hopefully we can find someone capable of breaking through the remaining hurdles, or NFSFAN has a mea culpa moment (i'm betting on the latter, not stopping me from pm'ing every one I can though at XDA!!!!!!!) With the new Opera 9.7 using OpenGL, newer games for ppc that actually rival the main mobile gaming platforms, not just gba etc, etc etc this would make a huge difference in our Vogues. (Not even mentioning TF3d). Jmitr (Like cb, mostly active on XDA but trying to be more here as well!!!!!) |
Re: OpenGL Driver
I wish I could help out with this whole thing, but I don't have a stock rom from any of the required devices to look at. I would agree with jmitr though... Windows devices are almost always D3D and have limited support for OpenGL, which are the only things Mac and Linux use. So it makes sense that it was much easier to get OpenGL working in Android (linux) than it is to get it working in WinMo.

Re: OpenGL Driver
Ok, NFSFAN is smart, but he is nothing compared to the guys who were on Polaris, Kaiser, and Nike...
They were the best of the best, but they never got the Vogue.... |
Re: OpenGL Driver
Jtuite,
I noticed you packaged a new Vogue core rar with the 21806 files. In doing a comparison I noticed also that you have left out several files from the ROM directory. Was this intentional and does it present any issues in trying to build a ROM with your Vogue core? Steve |
