hey OMJ!
Thanks for this,
how do we disable Shutter sound on the new bell rom, because it's no longer in the Camera settings :'(!!
I tried disableshutter in the regedit from 0 to 1. in the HTC/camera/common, didn't work.. Do you have any idea? or maybe re-upload an older version of the camera please?

Thanks a lot bro!

yes, office is included.....I only listed what I added.

I'm not sure what your question is. ICS was fixed, no need to run a cab. I simply renamed the data connection to "data connection" instead of Sprint PCS......this is only in the generic rom, the Sprint rom still says Sprint PCS.

For now, I'm only working on the Bell based rom.....give it a try, it seems to be abit better.

Which rom did you flash? you could try a hard reset or flash one of my newest roms.....gps works right out of the box, so I'm not sure what to tell ya.

I just tried it, was able to get a lock.....but it was alittle finicky.

It started working after a couple soft resets im goooooddddd now lol.
Thanks guys.

Kind of shooting in the dark with this one... I'm trying to make Quickmenu default to "replace the start menu" after a hard reset. I've been using the following regedit:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AlenSoft\QuickMenu\Gene ral]
"ReplaceStartMenu"=dword:00000001

However, it never seems to stick and the default value remains at 0 each time. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong??

A Hard Reset will reload the rom as it was flashed to your device. So if you change something, then hard reset it won't survive. FYI...Quickmenu get loaded by placing a shortcut to quickmenu.exe in the \windows\startup folder...

Is it just me, or does the Internet Sharing not work properly? When I try to connect from Vista Personal Area Network Devices, I get,

"The connection with the Bluetooth network device failed. The device may already be connected, blah blah blah". Has anyone used the Internet Sharing successfully, with or without the Extension=rilphone.dll enabled?

Edit: (This is running the Bell Custom rom, on the Bell network)

My posts are ridiculously unclear today! Let me try again. The regedit is located in an OEM I made (using your guide!), so it should be applied every time I hard reset. And its not that Quickmenu isn't loading. Its that one setting where it totally replaces the stock start menu. By default, you can access both by pressing different sides of the menu. I want only Quickmenu, but for some reason, the setting I specify using the regedit isn't sticking. Thanks for your help! :)

OMJ, thank you for nice ROM! There are some problems with IGO8, but it's ok, if GPSViewer is running.

But there is the problem with camera sounds. It will be nice if someone can help disable camera annoying sounds. May be just change ShutterSound.wav or Click.wav (one of them) file to silence.wav?

I'm running the generic custom 3.03.08 ROM on Verizon. Everything is sweet except Internet Sharing. It launches and connects fine but routes me to the dunsp.vzw.com page that offers me the extra $15/month plan.

What is missing? ... or need to be removed?

UPDATE: After trying a few things, renaming "rilphone.dll" to "rilphone.dll1" did the trick.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
"Extension"="rilphone.dll"

We may have a keeper with this ROM if I can turn off a few of the cutesy things like the % battery indicator (I need my task manager) and the button thing that loads. I'm getting amazing tether speeds, GPS is super fast, and I sware the call quality is better.

I'm still undecided on the flyout menus. I don't think I like them.

I don't see much difference in the two and if 19208 was vigorously tested on the device I own, then that's the one I want! :) And use...

exactly....I'm not one to just jump on the bandwagon, unless I see concrete proof/benefits. 19208 is what Sprint/HTC/Bell are using, so I will stick with that.

Most of my roms do not include the bootsplashs. I included the HTC bootsplashs in my 2 newest custom roms, because yes, if you flash the Bell official rom, it will write the Bell bootsplash.

You can flash this bootsplash image, it will hard reset ya, but it will only write the HTC bootsplash.

Thank you for the new ROM, I do have 1 curious question.
Why is your Clean ROM uses 10mb more program memory than the default Bell ROM? Is it the Pagepool?

Thanks

Thats probably it....I set the pagepool to 20.

Also, the Bell rom uses a newer radio driver. Will that work with Sprint?

Thank You

the "other" clean rom is based on the official sprint rom. I cooked the rom cuz ppl were saying it was performing better.....after running for the past week or so, I'd say it does perform abit better.

yes, you should be able to mix the radios/roms (Sprint & Bell)

I had questioned this myself....I tested once & it connected, but I havent had time to test further.....I'll look at it today.

well that's definitely the right regedit. I just changed mine to 1 & soft reset, and it stuck, but I changed it via QM options instead of regedit.

ah yes, I left rilphone.dll in.....thanks for posting the fix.

the % battery is from QM, you can go into QM\option\view & uncheck "show battery on taskbar", then go into system setting to enable task mgr.

the button thing....delete the AEBPlus link in \windows\startup

you can try what denasqu suggested or go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing & delete the "Extension" key.

I deleted the key, tethered to my XP laptop, and all was good.
