I've started a clean Bell version. I havent been following the Bell thread, is there anything I should know? ICS issues? IOTA?

Few ppl had problem with only 1X instead of EVDO but it looks like it fixed by itfelf... This was the most common problem... aside of that, I dont think there any big problem..

ya im on bell with the new rom...gps works insane....10-15sec locks, no issue with standby or locking your phone after gps is off . so bell some how managed to get the gps to work all the time. got average of 8 -11 active sats... i had the 1x problem for like 7 to 8 hours, but found out it was a simple thing, reflashed the bell rom and radio again and it worked 2nd time around, it was my prl that didnt update on the first time, so i wasnt authenticating on the evdo network. but for the past day and a but now works flawlessly :)

also note, tried a speed test on my laptop with it here at my house, using nfsman newest bell rom, after i fixed my problem. got 2446 kbps download rate....with 672 kbps for upload....so im going to go with around my house area is definitely rev a

im happy with my htc touch on bell now

Hi,

I've finally had some time testing your clean rom and I'd like to share my observations:

1) It seems that there is no way of turning the encryption of the storage card of. It is turned on by default and even if I turn it of, the checkbox will be activated again when I tap on the encryption icon.

2) Over at the tether thread, the guide says that one should replace the "PhoneAsModem" strings with "Sprint PCS". Is there any particular reason why you chose to set it to "Data Connection"?

3) Have you somehow cranked up the devices' transmission signal?

4) I can't get my internet to work, the IOTA set up fails.

5) How can I get rid of the time in the home's titelbar? I much rather see the battery icon.

6) You said that all the sprint apps are in the Windows folder...where exactly? In the root folder? There are a lot of files...

ok, here is a clean rom based on the new Bell. As usual, carrier customization has been removed, User Customization added, so yes, let it run!

fyi---I flashed the official Bell rom 1st to upgrade the radio, this may not be necessary, but I would recommend it. If you're non-Bell, make sure you soft reset b4 the carrier customizations run, if you are Bell, let it run.

I'm running this now....not too shabby! This rom is fairly generic, but most Bell roms are.....This can be flashed to any carrier.

• Removed stock junk
• Replaced Bell BootSplash w/ HTC
• Added 1% battery
• Added the thin Signal bars
• Added Device Lock
• Added Inbox, "mark all as read"
• Added Roaming Only option
• Bell Music left in, access via Cube
• The usual regedits
• Carrier Customization removed, but cabs are in \windows
• Added User Customization

EDIT:
-Whenever I soft reset I get a pop/notification everytime I soft-reset that says 'home only', didn't get this with your old generic rom :(
Is there a regedit to turn off 'network status' notifications?

Other than that, GPS works well...its nice and quick with a 24mb pagepool :D I'm happy :)

yeah, it's annoying, not sure why the notification....what I did to stop it was go into phone options, then "network status", and set it to Standard instead of home only.

umm, it has the apps listed.....this is a clean version.
