Here is an update on the Bell, and maybee other NBH packages. When updating the v1.4 Bell SYS, it didn't get deconstructed correctly with all the needed files. I used the same sys for the Bell 2.14 M2D rom, so the problem carried over. I will be fixing both of these soon and check the others for flashability. The OEM packages are good, and...That is what this project was all about.

This one I tested and here is the changelog. I'll get to the others as I can... -- rstg_xxx_m2d_v2.141 ------------- 11/6/2008 - Fix for kitchen errors that prevented NBH from flashing correctly - Added GPSToday Application v0.9.9.3 w/GeoMail and GeoTagger. - These will be updated over the next week as my time permits. - Updating a "streamlined" Kitchen where ALL you have to do is insert the OEM package you choose. No more decompiling. Edit: Maybee I shouldn't try to maintain 15 different kitchens on the ol' HDD... ![]() |

Thank you for fixing this rom, I will be loading it in a few minutes, I am starting to Like M2D, at first it was very limited and didn't offer the versatility of say Ultimate Launcher but it has improved lots. I tried Dette's and the Cristal roms, Cristals was really nice with a couple of problems but heavy on the battery. So I would love to try the M2D interface with the offical Bell rom and see how it fairs on power consumption.

The battery life is great on this series. But watch out for GPSToday, it can suck it dry quick. It's accessable through the launcher tab and starts on boot. It can be disabled in the program or by deleting \windows\startup\gpstoday.lnk

Ok Loaded the rom and it looks great so far, I just had a quick look as I have to get some work done but this weekend I will finish setting it up. I have set up the stock bell rom and used spb clone so I can go back to my original set up stock rom, now to set up 2.141 and back it and the 1.41 later, that way I will have 3 roms of choice that will take a few minutes to change.
I really like what you are doing, making stable base roms that people can build on and get the most of there phone (stable rom, low power consumption, and only the programs you want). Thanks again. Oh 1 question, do you know how I can get the power displayed on the top, not a biggy but nice to have a quick look at rather then digging for it. |

I do find the power consumption of Manilla a little high when using the phone (internet and MP3), I am not sure I want to stay with it, I think I will try Ultimate Launcher again and load it up with programs and see how that fairs against Manilla once I have backed this up and loaded the 1.41 rom. I found SPB PocketPlus to be pretty good, maybe the best on the power side, I was surprised that fully loaded with apps I could still listen to music (MP3) and the phone didn't even get a little warm and the battery held up good. |
