Holy cow, this works great! No priming, no bullcrap... I just fired up Live Maps and got a lock in about 5 seconds indoors at my office. I never got even close to a lock here, even after letting it prime for an hour....

Woo Hoo!

Eh..i got a lock after about a minute but it put me across the street from where I was, in my neighbors front yard..a good 200-300 feet probably

I changed back GPSMode to 2, counterintuitively, as mentioned in another thread about gc14's hack. I had it set to 4 while attempting an older aGPS hack that did not work.

My registry settings are now set like this:

HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\...
...EnableAGPS = 1
...EnableGPSSmartMode = 1
...EnablePDEIPFromNV = 1
...GPSMode = 2 (not 4!!!!)
...ServerIP = 66.174.95.132
...ServerPort = 8888

And after following gc14's QPST Tutorial, my first lock--indoors--using Garmin XT without any priming and without any previous GPS locks that day, took about 10 seconds for 4 satellites. About 20 seconds in, I had 8 satellites. Interestingly, on another Windows Mobile device (HP 210) using a Garmin Mobile 10 Bluetooth GPS (SiRFStar III chipset) in the same location, it took 3 minutes to lock onto 3 satellites, and that's the most locks I can get.

I changed all the registry settings back, and I had to add the EnablePDEIPFromNV...

I might cry.

Works GREAT. Maybe 20 seconds and I had 8 locks..

This really works!!! OMG!!! This makes me want to cry when I see that blue flashing dot in Google Map. Can't believe it really going to work!

People with Verizon's XV6900, if you have doubt, don't be. Just follow the wiki directions and give it a try, you will be impressed.

btw, I've left the gps registry the same as before, and that doesn't seem to affect the gps performance. ie. gpsmode=4, and ip address as the old sprinit server. Maybe those registry settings has nothing to do with the agps!?

Right now I am able to get lock in about 10 - 20 sec with 8 sat. Never see so many before, but of course, I am going to try it out in different location to be certain. One think for sure, when I click on gps in Google Map, the data connection is active and this means it is going online to look for the location from the server. Something that never happen before.

the same seems to be true for Bell.. in the new ROM
they introduced that "PDE IP", and it works magnificently...

registry settings do no play any role..

I'm curious.. does verizon phone show any data activity when AGPS
is at work?
