Copy it to the device. Use Total Commander or other file explorer to copy it to the Windows folder. If you try to do it with activestink it won't let ya.

So I can't get it to work. I install the cities database but none of the new ones work. I tried to install the htc home file but everytime it makes my phone freeze and have to do a hard reset. I even tried the htc 6 tab cab and it wont install. I'd really like to make this work. Any ideas form anyone? I have the Sprint Rom 6.1

Hi... I cant seem to get Bellingham, WA to work. It can't download data. Also, I noticed that you used 98225 for the zipcode in the XML, but I believe 98226 is for the greater Bellingham area.

Thanks in advance!

Mike

Reading these post makes my head spin. I installed the weatherdatabase but it would not add cities, so hooover suggested to take a looky here. There seems to be so many different ways to get the updates to work that I am confused. I have a sprint touch with no updates roms ect. I checked and have HTChome.dll in my windows folder, do I need to change that with a different file? I don't want to install the wrong one and have my new PPC freeze. Or should I install Total Commander and use that to load the new weater file.

Yes, You need the patched .dll since it points to a custom server that makes it all work. You also need the custom database. To transfer the files, Total Commander will get it done.

I downloaded the .dll last night and my touch kept freezing and/or restarting. I was able to boot up in safe mode(I think the safe mode prompt kicked in after three consecutive restarts in a two minute time period, it might be a seperate program for safe mode don't remember) then copied my original .dll back into \windows that I saved in a seperate folder incase any problems happened which it did. If all else fails there's always hard reset.

Edit: On a side note I did find two ways to edit my personal weather but it was a different approach than suggested.
