Well the colorful different icons are awesome. But, to make my own would be better:) I just hated the stock looking black and white ones lol..

Ok, update on the message icons. The file that you dl is outres.192.dll. You need to change that to outres.96.dll. With totalcommander you need to copy the file and go into windows change the existing file name to outres.96.dll.bak. Then just paste the new file there and soft reset. Looks much better than the stock one for sure!

Edit: Or just use this one I've attached. I hope this helps whomever wants to do this. Its really not that hard if you follow the directions. Should only take a few minutes.

Still having problems with the dialer. I tried the clean manila but it also freezes.

I would say stop driving yourself nuts and hang on till the next release. I would think it wont be much longer. Just flash to an earlier release of this rom and wait for the update. I dont think there is a solution to your problem right now. Sorry man!

Very true

Again.. Check out the video I made about v2.4.. Shows that I included a new dialer so that we wont have this problem!(just know that isnt the finished ROM so things may and will change a little bit)

It also tells you an estimate of when it will be release

Probably a few days .. maybe week tops :D

Yes, I watched the vid over on SPJ earlier. The new rom is looking good. I cant wait to test it out:) Let me know you need any help I'm here all day as you know lol.

I like the dialer in 2.4 :silent:

Glad to hear the new one is coming out soon. I spent last night messing with the registry and comparing it to a phone with the Services tab and nothing I changed caused it to re-appear. If it doesn't appear in 2.5 for me I may have to roll my own rom or something :scratch:

Multi-select work in OMJ's rom ... is there a difference in the version of outlook?

Since I need ArcSoft MMS I can't use the inbox extender to at least mark all as read which would be an ok option ... so is there no other option?

another problem I've encountered ... when I get a phone call I have to select "turn on headset" from the menu. Not sure if this is a issue with the radio since i checked by giing to a different rom and had the same problem.

Well OMJ's ROM is with Build 19***(Not sure the exact numbers besides 19 something) and my Build is 20924 (v2.4 is 20931) so thats why

radio version is 3.42.50 ... this problem just started with a recent rom flash (I think to yours but propogates when I flash to a different rom)

I dont think you would have a radio problem. you could reflash it

I reflashed your rom and there is no difference. If I place a call it connect to the headset correctly, it is only if I receive a call that I have to select "turn on hands-free"

An odd thing that I noticed ... I changed the regional settings last time I flashed and this time when I reflashed the regional settings were still what I had changed them to ... does flashing not wipe everything? I wonder if I somehow changed something that is not getting fixed by a reflash.

CORRECTION: The regional settings were changed to what you had set ... first time I booted the customizations did not run. After they ran the regional settings DID change.

EDIT 2: I just did a hard reset after the recent flash and no difference.

Sorry maybe I wasnt quite clear.. By what I meant was since YOU thought it might be a radio problem is reflash the 3.42.50 radio. (I personally am not sure how that would effect the problem but since you thought that I think it cant hurt to try if need be)
But so you are saying you ARE using a headset? If so it may be the headset I am not sure
Can you give me a little more details?

I just did a reflash of the radio and now reflashing your rom ... we will see in a few minutes if this solves the problem or not.

It is not the headset since I tried using a different bluetooth headset and have the exact same problem.

Either way I'll have a possible answer in a minute ...

EDIT: Part of the reason I thought it might be the radio was I had to do a hard reset after trying to customize the icons from an earlier post. Whatever I did I could not turn on the radio or even press the soft-reset button. I just wonder if this somehow messed things up ...

OK, the reflash of the radio made no difference at all ...

However I found that once I answer the call from the handset and then press the button on the headset it will connect. Or if I answer from the bluetooth it will work. This problem only happens if I answer from the headset.

SO I guess now that this problem is a small annoyance. Will just have to answer either from the headset directly or answer from the handset then press the answer button on the bluetooth.

Can I ask what you changed to get the services tab back? Was it just a registry setting or was something missing from SYS?

I flashed vetvito's base 2.5 without any customizations of my own and surprise surprise the services tab is missing.

There is a registry setting but it doesnt seem to always work. I noticed once I installed the Alltel PPST and DCD cabs mine were there again.

I forget who it was that was looking for the usb popup menu. But, I just found it over on SPJ. I hope he sees this post and dl's it.

I know you are releasing a rom with a fixed dialer, but I want to comment on the problem. Maybe it will serve some purpose. I notice that there seems to be behind the screen with the outline of a person and the green and red buttons another answer screen white with a slider that goes either to the left to answer or right to ignore.This screen actually looks like it belongs to the dialer (same graphics) I noticed this because sometimes the regular dialer screen doesn't pop up right away and saw this screen then the green and red buton screen comes up and blocks it. I think that presing the green button does not slide the slider to answer and so nothing happens.

I am getting these errors when I run garmin xt

Cound not execute TskSchedule.exe
Could not execute calnote.exe
Could not execute replog.exe
Also when I have no gps signal garmin resets my clock to 7:00
I flashed in another rom to see if it does it there but it seems to be something specific to this rom.

Do you have S2U2's S2A on? If so turn it off

Same here! I just lay in my bed and watch my big *** tv (just got a 52" 1080p lcd SICK!) and fall asleep.

Searching the forums shows the errors to be rom errors (seems to be a problem with many roms and no good solution)and the only solution seems to be a hard reset. Are the files missing?

I have run into an issue where when the Connect to PC window popped up, I picked Internet Sharing. Dont think I checked "Dont ask Again", but I might have. Now I cant get Active Sync to connect. Anyway to fix it?

I'm replying for a co-worker that just called from out-of-state w/ a problem. He recently flashed his AllTel HTC Touch w/ the 2.3 ROM. Everything was OK here in Michigan. However, now that he's out of state, looks like he can't call. His phone gives the message "Authentication Code can't be verified." He contacted AllTel, who' saying he needs to check the Services tab to make sure "Home Only" isn't selected, but he can't locate it. Wants to know if you have any suggestions, other than what I already told him, which was to always flash back to the original ROM before calling the vendor.

make sure internet sharing is closed completely and active sync on the phone is closed then try again.. if not just restart the phone

I personally haven't had that registry change work, but reading VetVito's thread on xda-devs i found the following post

which has some modified DCDs. The Sprint modified DCD brought back my services tab.

I have just done multiple testings with the dialer and s2u2 is definitely the culprit.
It is it's CAller ID function and the screen with the green and red button is part of s2u2 's caller id. disabling s2us without first disabling the caller id won't remove your phone from using s2u2 caller id function.
Disable the caller id
the phone will say it needs to be reset.
The dialer should now be working
(to disable the slide2answer -s2a- the caller id function has to be enabled)
