Mira Bori.....You have to install Windows from the Boot Camp assistant in your HD>Applications>Utilities

Ideally WinXp because I read somewhere that Vista is not very stable using the boot camp

I have a MacBook. Far as i know its not even remotely possible. If you can obtain software then i suggest you get a copy of WinXP (the black edition was my favorite). Then get a copy or parallels desktop, or even use boot camp and go that route. or just ask a friend to use thier XP box for about 15-20 minutes.

Well I just joined this board to say that this update does not work on my HTC Touch with Bell. At the moment I am stuck at 1.19.666.1

I know there are ways around this, but I was looking for a more official process, not one which is hacky

Ok, better now.

Once the upgrade was complete and all customizations were run, I did a level 2 restore from Sprite (ver 6.2.2).

Everything was restored as was with the exception of my bluetooth profiles and the picture speed dials.
All of the picture speed dials that were present in SPB Shell were preserved though.

Virtually every other program was restored and working great after the restore.

I will report back any odd behavior when/if I notice it.

This is great news - I have Sprite Backup 6.2.2 and this is what they said in a forum question I posted just yesterday

Please confirm that the PIM data - Contacts specifically - restored competely on WM 6.1 !!

Anyone seeing corruption of the sd card like on the stock ROM? I installed the first "Official" leaked ROM and it hasn't given me any trouble, but I thought I saw that some people were having issues with the rom from the 10th. I love not having to worry about losing everything on my card, so this could be a deal breaker if it has happened.

I have Vista and it worked fine for me. I do remember getting one error on the first try, but it worked after a soft reboot on my Touch. I think the previous reply was suggesting you right click and run as administrator. You can try this, but i don't think it is necessary.

I have noticed that if you have your email running in the back or other programs the A-Z will not show. I close all running programs and go back to contacts and the A-Z is there.
