it is official read my posting #128 and you will find out why probably the link isn't working anymore to the software updates page for the touch.but it will was working before....the dowload link for the rom is straight from HTC's FTP site. You will see the rom update page live on Monday.

there is also a difference....in the ROM's not sure what but...

76.6 MB and it's .4_2

July 10th was 78.4 MB and it was just .4

EDIT: From what I heard, there was a minor glitch in the ROM that was suppose to be fixed. And HTC did release early without Sprint's permission

The GPS chip is in the phone and is enabled by this software update. There is no extra charge for Sprint subscribers to take advantage of this chip and software update.

Additional charges are associated with subscription-based navigation software, which Sprint includes ... I believe it is called TeleNav, but I am not certain about that. In order to get updated and current maps, etc. with TeleNav, you have to pay the monthly subsription fee.

I am a Sprint subscriber on the SERO 500 plan and have used the GPS functionality since sometime in February of this year, but I have used it with Google Maps and Microsoft Live Search ... I have never received any additional fees.

Its adds Rev A (faster download speeds) and GPS that you can use with Google Maps/Live Search or other GPS software.

There is a version of tcpmp that will work with WM6.1

I did a hardware reset, 3rd since the flash to .4_2, and now I can answer calls (see previous post).

TCPMP works well btw. I did get a google maps gps lock in about 2 seconds outside, but it is slow inside the house.

I got this same error also: Invalid command 328. It occured every time I tried the update off of my Win2000 PC. I then switched to an XP machine, and it worked first time. Others also reports problems using Vista, so I would say, use an XP to do this update...
