I spent some time working on this last week and think I found the answer (at least it worked for me). It seems all the themes are designed to modify the original skin. OMJ did not create this rom with the original skin, but rather with one he preferred. Basically, you need to revert the theme back to the original (both the graphics files and the original HTCHomeSettings.xml file) and then apply the theme of your choice. The original graphics are linked at the end of that post (original blue default skin), but I can't remember where I got the XML file. You might want to try searching for it, or I will see if I can locate it again tomorrow.

Make sure you have TouchFLO disabled from your today screen before you try changing anything. Otherwise, files will be locked and may not be replaceable.

I copied the HTCHomeSettings.xml file from Havoc's Teal Manilla theme and that gave me the analog clock, but it still has the white boxes from OMJ's digital clock off to the right hand side. I might hack the XML about when I've got some time, but if someone's got a genuine original HTCHomeSettings.xml it would be appreciated.

I think it depends on where you are saving the picture.

a 3.09 rom :D if you dont plan on using M2D, you might want to flash a non-M2D rom just to save space

OMJ, I really like the M2D interface, but like others I miss the today screen plug-ins. (especially pocket sports center and GPS today) Is there anyway to create a widget for these ?

hmm, it sounds like a good idea, but TouchFLO is the actual plugin, so I doubt there would be the possibility of adding a plugin to a widget, but ya never know, we'll just have to keep our eye on the development of m2d.

now if you wanted to simply launch an app, I think that could be done easily...ie, youtube...here it the registry settings for it on the internet widget:
