Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
After flashing, mine will not connect to the internet. I just did a hard reset and am seeing if that fixes it. I fear some incompatibility with Telus' network where I live.

Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
someone confirm WM6.1 and Rev A?
|
Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
It's 6.1 and it has GPS. As for Rev. A., I can't tell because mine won't connect to the internet after flashing.

Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
Hmm, it seems like a modified RUU as well that takes user input before updating. I have to "Press Any Number Key" before going to the next screen of the RUU. Cool.:)
This was on a Vogue with the Official Sprint Rom on it... but now on one that only had the Alltel Rom, it wasn't required!? Weird. RevA_6900.arm(noUninstall).cab is the RevA file some people are looking for. You have to press Menu>Show All Files for it to be visible in File Explorer. "Installing touchflo.xml"... 4th cube side? ROM INFO (after previously having the Official Sprink Leaked Rom) Code:
M 03 P DCAAXOM-4350H If this fails, AND you don't have any data do the following:

Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
Flashed this too many times, and can't get a GPS lock. Even tried flashing to a different rom that had stable GPS, but now I got nothing. Anybody having the same problem? or solution suggestions?
|
Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
I also cannot get a GPS lock, I tried flashing to my previous ROM that would lock immediately, and it didn't work anymore. I probably has to do with the Radio. I have basically downgraded from 3.42.30 to 3.41.00, maybe this radio isn't as ready for GPS as they thought. (I don't understand how Telus Navigator could possibly work?!)
|
Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
If I use the trick where I change the data rate to 19200 in External GPS under Settings > System, I can get a GPS lock after that. It would be nice if there was something automated that primed the GPS upon startup.
|
Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
Just an addendum to the last post. I was able to get a lock using the above method last night but no luck today. :(
|
Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
how do you go back to the original?

Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
No GPS lock for me either.
It looks like streaming media was included as I can watch youtube mobile without installing anything after rom upgrade. |
Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
Hmmm. I now get a very strong signal. I will hard reset and see if I can get the same signal again.

For TomTom 6 you use Other NMEA device and select COM4, that should be it. (with a gps primer of course) |
Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
Tobeychris - did you do anything different when you booted up? I did the *22803 and programming was succesful, then an instant soft reset. But GPS refuses to lock on.
I tried booting an older custom ROM that used to work, and it think's I'm in either Kazakastan or a a couple of hundred km's off the Western Coast of Africa... I think I'd rather have the GPS say "I don't know" than just making stuff up |

Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
I tried installing navigator too, but I didn't actually sign up for the stupid 30 day trial. I don't need 1 more thing going wrong on my bill.
Did you just install it? In your opinion, is the official release any better than the custom roms? All I noticed is the mini-menu popup when you tap the signal/battery/EVDO section of the screen. (everything else seems it can be installed seperately) |
Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
That's actually an HTC program that can be installed seperately too. And no, it's not better than any of the custom roms, but it's soon to be an official and non-warranty-voiding update. If we can figure out how to use it to the best of its abilities, it's better for everyone:)

Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
Hey All,
I tossed this on and re programmed my phone and things are working well. My GPS works perfect and I don't need any priming for Tom Tom 6 to work (it's set up with the Other NMEA GPS Receiver selected, COM 4, Baud 4800). I didn't have to touch anything on the GPS settings on the phone. Google and Windows Live lock on quick as well. Just a heads up to hard reset after you flash the first time, that may help. Now if I could just find a .cab for Internet Sharing I'd be laughing (yes I've searched but try searching .cab Internet Sharing and see how many hits you get!) RG |
Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
I tried a hard reset, no gps, installed telus nav, no gps, ran telus nav, it gets a lock, but TomTom won't lock again... this is messed up.

... either that or I am just being paranoid. :) I am sure someone will work this out if it isn't an actual bug in the rom. |
Re: Official Telus HTC Touch Update Released
I just found something interesting, when I open My Computer while Active Sync is on, then click "Mobile Device" then the phone icon again "My Windows Based-mobile Device" in that directory is a file called PPST58. It's a text file, like a log from the PPST which shows my SPC...this may be an easier way to find it for those of you looking if you run the new ROM.
